Job summary

Tanqeeb in Dubai is seeking a commercially driven Specification / Business Development Executive to join our team. You will blend sales with a deep understanding of the specification process, engaging architects, consultants, developers, and contractors from early design stages.

You will position Tanqeeb's automation and smart building solutions within project specs, conduct presentations and meetings, and coordinate with technical and sales teams to propose optimal solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, or related field.
• 4–6 years of relevant experience in UAE or GCC.
• Experience in building automation, motorized systems, shading, lighting controls or related project-based solutions.
• Strong ability to communicate with architects, consultants and contractors to influence specifications.
• Knowledge of how products are specified through design professionals.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Our client, a leading international company specializing in automation and smart solutions for residential and commercial buildings, is looking for a commercially driven Specification / Business Development Executive to join its Dubai team.

The ideal candidate will combine sales and business development capabilities with a good understanding of the specification process. The role requires someone who can engage architects, consultants, developers, contractors, and other project stakeholders from the early design stages and help position the company's solutions within project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop relationships with architects, consultants, developers, contractors, and other key project stakeholders.

• Identify and pursue new project and business development opportunities across the UAE.

• Engage with stakeholders during the concept and design/specification stages of projects.

• Promote the company's motorized, automated, and smart building solutions and work toward having them incorporated into project specifications.

• Conduct product presentations, technical meetings, and solution demonstrations for consultants and clients.

• Understand project requirements and coordinate internally with technical and sales teams to propose appropriate solutions.

• Review relevant drawings, specifications, and project documentation and follow projects through the different stages of the sales cycle.

• Build and maintain a strong project pipeline and proactively develop new consultant and client relationships.

• Follow market developments, upcoming projects, competitor activity, and industry trends.

• Support the commercial team in converting specified projects into business opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field.

• Approximately 4–6 years of relevant experience in the UAE or GCC market.

• Background in business development, project sales, key account management, specification, or technical sales.

• Exposure to products or solutions related to building automation, motorized systems, shading solutions, lighting controls, smart homes/buildings, electrical solutions, architectural products, or other project-based building solutions is preferred.

• Good understanding of how products/brands are specified through architects and consultants.

• Strong commercial mindset—the candidate does not need to come from a pure Specification Engineer background.

• Comfortable prospecting for new business and developing relationships rather than relying solely on existing accounts.

• Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills.

• Able to understand technical information and communicate it effectively to both technical and commercial stakeholders.

What We're Looking For

The emphasis is on a young, commercially strong talent who understands specification rather than a highly senior, purely technical Specification Manager. Profiles such as Business Development Executive, Key Account Executive, Project Sales Executive, Specification Executive, or Specification Engineer can all be relevant if they have the right project and consultant exposure.
