What You'll Need
Team noon has some of the fastest, smartest, and hardest-working people we've encountered. With a young, aggressive, and talented team, we're driving major missions forward.
You will own a well-defined part of our commercial systems, from design to production operations, and work with the wider team on the rest.
Scope & responsibilities
- Design, build and operate scalable backend services and APIs for pricing, promotions, catalogue and other commercial workflows across retail and marketplace
- Build reliable batch and real-time data pipelines that feed commercial decisions
- Build systems for retail operations: buying and merchandising tools, replenishment and inventory planning, and supplier cost and margin management
- Turn ambiguous commercial problems (margin leakage, stock-outs, promo ROI) into well-scoped technical solutions with clear success metrics
- Build internal tools and dashboards that let category, pricing and marketing teams act on data themselves
- Work with data scientists to productionise ML models: serving, monitoring, A/B testing and clear fallbacks
- Own quality in production: testing, observability, performance and incident response
- Partner with category, buying, pricing and marketing leaders to build tools and systems they actually use
- Mentor peers and raise the bar on engineering practices across the team
Key responsibilities by focus area: Expect to work on some mix of these, prioritised by business impact.
- Pricing and competitiveness: Build the pricing engine and rules service with category guardrails for retail and marketplace, and real-time repricing pipelines, with ML elasticity models plugged in where they help, driving margin, price index and conversion
- Promotions and discounts: Build a promotion platform with eligibility and budget controls, plus experimentation to measure uplift, improving promo ROI and incremental GMV
- Retail replenishment and inventory planning: Build services that turn demand signals into reorder recommendations and stock-out and overstock alerts, including forecasting models, improving in-stock rate and reducing overstock.
- Retail buying, merchandising and supplier management: Build tools for buyers and merchandisers covering supplier cost and margin tracking, range planning, and price and promo funding workflows, improving gross margin and sell-through
- Assortment and catalogue: Build tooling and data pipelines that find missing high-demand products and underperforming listings, improving selection coverage and GMV
- Seller and marketplace quality: Build seller performance scoring and detection of fraud and abnormal pricing, protecting seller health and customer trust
- Commercial data and experimentation platform: Build reliable, well-modelled datasets, A/B testing tooling and self-serve dashboards for retail and marketplace teams, speeding up decisions and improving data trust
