Job summary

SINOROCK INTERNATIONAL GENERAL CONTRACTING in Dubai requires an experienced on-site engineer to manage the full construction of a PV plant, including civil foundations, mounting structures, module placement, cabling, inverter commissioning and grid-connection support.

The role demands 5+ years UAE site experience, fluent English, and the ability to liaise with clients, supervisors and inspectors while ensuring safety and compliance with local standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, New Energy, Civil Engineering, Mechatronics, or related disciplines.
• 5+ years UAE construction site experience; 3+ years on-site PV engineering with full-cycle delivery.
• Fluent in English; capable of drafting reports and communicating with international clients and supervisors.
• Proficient in interpreting PV construction drawings and knowledge of local standards and DEWA grid rules.

Responsibilities

• Manage full construction process of Dubai PV plant including foundations and mounting structures.
• Oversee PV module laying, AC/DC cabling, inverter commissioning and grid connection support.

Job description

1. Manage full construction process of Dubai PV plant, including civil foundation, mounting structure installation, PV module laying, AC/DC cabling, inverter & distribution equipment commissioning and grid connection support. Implement construction plan in accordance with drawings and Dubai local standards, control workmanship, workflow and site safety.

2. Independently liaise with Dubai clients, supervisors, main contractors and third-party inspectors with full English communication. Handle technical clarification, variation orders, site claims, inspection submission and acceptance. Familiar with Dubai site safety access and inspection procedure, ensure works comply with UAE engineering standards and DEWA PV grid code.

3. Control construction schedule, prepare weekly/monthly construction plans, identify schedule deviations and corrective actions. Implement site quality control, conduct inspection of concealed works and self-check, archive full project documents. Enforce local safety rules, mitigate site hazards and prevent safety incidents.

4. Independently resolve unexpected on-site technical issues including site adaptation, foundation adjustment, installation tolerance and cable routing optimization, propose practical technical solutions tailored to Dubai site conditions to keep project on track.

5. Compile site records, photos, English technical reports and acceptance logs. Report progress, risks and issues to China headquarters regularly, support interim acceptance, final acceptance and project handover.

6. Coordinate local construction crews and foreign workers, deliver technical briefing and on-site management, adapt to construction rhythm of Dubai job sites.

Desired Candidate Profile

1. Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher (candidates with an associate degree may be considered if exceptionally qualified) in Electrical Engineering, New Energy, Civil Engineering, Mechatronics, or related engineering disciplines.

2. Work Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience; local UAE construction site experience is preferred (familiarity with UAE site environments, communication protocols with supervisors, local inspection submission procedures, and safety management workflows). 3+ years of on-site engineering experience in the PV industry, with full-cycle involvement in the construction and delivery of centralized or distributed PV projects; experience with Dubai PV projects and DEWA grid-connection coordination is a plus.

3. Language Skills: Fluent in spoken and written English; capable of independently conducting on-site meetings, drafting engineering reports, and handling technical correspondence in English; able to communicate effectively with international clients and supervisors without language barriers.

4. Professional Skills: Proficient in interpreting PV construction drawings and knowledgeable about PV construction techniques and quality acceptance standards; familiar with local UAE engineering standards, safety regulations, and basic DEWA grid-connection procedures; proficient in using CAD and Microsoft Office software.

6.General Competencies: Willing and able to be stationed at the UAE project site for the long term; strong on-site problem-solving and multi-party coordination skills; resilient under pressure, rigorous, and responsible; willing to cooperate with the company on Dubai work visa processing and MOHRE employment registration.
