Job summary

Responsibilities

IAN is seeking a technically competent, commercially driven Site Engineer with proven experience executing Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage projects in the UAE. The ideal candidate will combine strong site engineering and project management capabilities with the ability to identify new business opportunities, generate equipment sales, and contribute to IAN's revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Execution & Site Management: Supervise Solar PV EPC projects, ensuring timely delivery, quality, cost control, and compliance with approved specifications.
• Installation & Commissioning: Oversee site installations, testing, commissioning, inspections, and project handover for commercial, industrial, residential, and other solar installations.
• Technical Engineering: Conduct site surveys, review engineering drawings, assess technical requirements, prepare material estimates, and coordinate technical submissions.
• Project Coordination: Manage subcontractors, technicians, suppliers, consultants, and clients to ensure smooth project execution and resource utilization.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with DEWA requirements, UAE regulations, HSE standards, and applicable project approval procedures.
• Technical & Commercial Proposals: Support the preparation of quotations, BOQs, tenders, technical proposals, and commercial offers in coordination with management.
• Client Representation: Professionally represent IAN during site meetings, technical discussions, client presentations, and project negotiations.

Preferable Advantage:

• EPC Sales: Actively identify new Solar PV EPC opportunities, develop client relationships, and contribute to securing new projects.
• Trading & Distribution: Generate sales of solar panels, inverters, batteries, and other renewable energy equipment through existing and prospective customers.
• O&M Business Growth: Identify and secure O&M opportunities from completed projects and existing installations, supporting long-term service contracts and recurring revenue.
• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Renewable Energy Engineering or similar (mandatory). HSE certifications( preferred).
• Industry Background (Mandatory): Must have previously worked for established Solar PV and Energy Storage EPC companies engaged in project execution, Trading & Distribution, and O&M services. Experience limited to general electrical contracting or unrelated industries will not be considered.
• Experience: Minimum 3-4 years of hands-on Solar PV and Energy Storage EPC experience in Dubai and the UAE, including Commercial & Industrial (C&I) projects. Additional GCC experience is advantageous.
• Project Execution: Demonstrable experience independently supervising solar installations, managing site teams, coordinating subcontractors, and delivering projects through testing, commissioning, and handover.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of Solar PV systems, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), electrical installations, inverters, protection systems, and project documentation.
• Communication & Representation: Good English communication and interpersonal skills. Professional, confident, and capable of engaging effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, and government representatives. Arabic is an advantage.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Good understanding of DEWA regulations, UAE solar installation standards, and relevant project approval requirements.
• Project Management: Strong planning, problem-solving, cost-control, and coordination capabilities, with the ability to manage multiple project sites.
• EPC Sales: Proven ability to identify and generate EPC opportunities, develop customer relationships, and contribute to equipment trading sales. Previous sales achievements are highly valued.
• UAE Driving Licence (Mandatory).
