Job summary

Tanqeeb is seeking a Site Engineer (Civil) to supervise and coordinate civil construction activities on UAE sites, ensuring works follow approved shop drawings, specs, QA/QC and HSE standards.

The role requires 5–7 years of UAE project experience, particularly in water/wastewater projects, with TAQA Water Solutions exposure preferred. Based in Abu Dhabi, a challenging, on-site role with multidisciplinary coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience with significant site-based work in the UAE.
• Proven UAE experience in water, wastewater and/or sewage treatment plants and related utility projects.
• Previous TAQA Water Solutions exposure is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of civil construction and site execution for utility projects.
• Familiarity with civil/structural drawings, shop drawings, as-built drawings, ITPs and technical specs.

Responsibilities

• Supervise site civil teams and construction activities per approved drawings, method statements, specs and QA/QC.
• Review civil shop drawings and as-built drawings for compliance with project requirements and site conditions.
• Plan weekly site activities and identify manpower, materials, tools, plant and equipment needs.
• Prepare and submit daily and weekly progress reports.
• Monitor progress and productivity to align with project schedule.
• Coordinate with engineering, project management, consultants and other disciplines to resolve issues.
• Coordinate civil works with ME, electrical, instrumentation, piping and other disciplines to avoid clashes.
• Supervise works at water/wastewater facilities, pumping stations, pipelines and related infrastructure.
• Ensure implementation of HSE procedures and safe working practices on site.
• Coordinate inspections with QA/QC, consultants and client representatives prior to handover.
• Support punch-list clearance, as-built documentation and final handover.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely material availability.

The Site Engineer (Civil) will be responsible for supervising and coordinating civil construction activities on site, ensuring that works are executed in accordance with approved shop drawings, project technical specifications, quality requirements, HSE standards, and the approved project schedule.

The role requires hands-on UAE project experience within water, wastewater and/or sewage treatment projects, with preference given to candidates with previous TAQA Water Solutions (TAQA WS) project exposure.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise site civil teams and construction activities in accordance with approved shop drawings, method statements, project specifications, and applicable standards.

• Review civil shop drawings and as-built drawings to ensure compliance with project requirements and actual site conditions.

• Plan site activities on a weekly basis and identify required manpower, materials, tools, plant, and equipment to achieve planned targets.

• Prepare and submit daily and weekly progress reports, including completed activities, upcoming works, constraints, and resource requirements.

• Monitor civil work progress and productivity on site and ensure activities are completed in accordance with the approved project schedule.

• Identify and resolve technical and construction-related issues in coordination with engineering, project management, consultants, and other relevant disciplines.

• Coordinate civil works with mechanical, electrical, instrumentation/control, piping, and other disciplines to ensure smooth execution and avoid clashes.

• Supervise civil and structural works associated with water/wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations, pipelines and related utility infrastructure, as applicable to the assigned project.

• Ensure implementation of approved Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) procedures and safe working practices across all site activities.

• Monitor the quality of civil works and ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, ITPs, method statements, and project QA/QC requirements.

• Coordinate and conduct required inspections with QA/QC personnel, consultants, and client representatives prior to acceptance and handover.

• Support punch-list clearance, as-built documentation, final inspections, and handover of completed civil works.

• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams to ensure timely availability of materials and completion of assigned activities.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.

• Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience, with significant site-based experience in the UAE.

• Proven UAE experience in water, wastewater, sewage treatment plants and/or associated utility infrastructure projects is required.

• Previous project experience with TAQA Water Solutions (TAQA WS) is highly preferred.

• Strong knowledge of civil construction and site execution activities related to utility/infrastructure projects.

• Good understanding of civil and structural drawings, shop drawings, as-built drawings, method statements, ITPs, and technical specifications.

• Experience in planning and supervising site activities and determining manpower, materials, plant, and equipment requirements.
