Job summary

The Civil Supervisor will oversee day-to-day civil construction activities on site, ensuring safety, quality, and adherence to approved drawings, specifications, and the project schedule.

Strong UAE hands-on experience in water/wastewater treatment projects is required, with preference for candidates with TAQA Water Solutions (TAQA WS) exposure.

Qualifications

• Diploma/ITI in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• 7+ years of relevant civil construction/site experience, UAE.
• Proven UAE experience in water/wastewater/sewage treatment plants and utility projects.
• Preferred exposure to TAQA Water Solutions (TAQA WS) projects.
• Strong knowledge of civil construction and site execution.
• Ability to read civil/structural drawings, shop drawings, and specs.

Job description

The Civil Supervisor will be responsible for supervising and coordinating day-to-day civil construction activities on site, ensuring that works are executed safely and efficiently in accordance with approved shop drawings, project technical specifications, quality requirements, HSE standards, and the approved construction schedule.The position requires strong hands-on UAE experience in water, wastewater and/or sewage treatment projects, with preference given to candidates with previous TAQA Water Solutions (TAQA WS) project exposure.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise civil site teams, foremen, skilled/unskilled workers, and subcontractors in accordance with approved shop drawings, method statements, project specifications, and applicable standards.

• Ensure civil construction activities are executed in accordance with approved drawings and required workmanship standards.

• Review and understand civil shop drawings and as-built drawings and ensure actual site works comply with project requirements.

• Plan weekly site activities in coordination with the Site Engineer/Project Engineer and determine required manpower, materials, tools, plant, and equipment.

• Prepare and provide inputs for daily and weekly progress reports, including completed works, planned activities, manpower deployment, and site constraints.

• Monitor site progress and productivity and ensure assigned civil activities are completed in accordance with the approved project schedule.

• Identify site and construction issues and coordinate with the Site Engineer, Project Engineer, and relevant engineering disciplines for timely resolution.

• Coordinate civil works with mechanical, electrical, instrumentation/control, piping, and other disciplines to ensure smooth execution and minimize clashes and rework.

• Supervise civil and structural works associated with water/wastewater treatment facilities, sewage treatment plants, pumping stations, pipelines, and related utility infrastructure, as applicable to the project.

• Ensure implementation of approved Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) procedures and safe working practices across all assigned site activities.

• Monitor workmanship and ensure compliance with project QA/QC requirements, approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and ITPs.

• Coordinate with QA/QC personnel to ensure works are ready for inspection prior to consultant/client approval.

• Support punch-list clearance, rectification works, final inspections, and handover activities.

• Ensure proper utilization of manpower, materials, plant, tools, and equipment and maintain good housekeeping across assigned work areas.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Diploma / ITI / Technical Qualification in Civil Engineering or Civil Construction, or equivalent.

• Minimum 7 years of relevant civil construction/site experience, with significant hand-on experience in the UAE.

• Proven UAE experience in water, wastewater, sewage treatment plants (STP) and/or associated utility infrastructure projects.

• Previous experience on TAQA Water Solutions (TAQA WS) projects is highly preferred.

• Strong hand-on knowledge of civil construction and site execution activities.

• Ability to read and understand civil/structural drawings, shop drawings, as-built drawings, method statements, and technical specifications.

• Experience supervising civil foremen, skilled workers, subcontractors, and site manpower.

• Ability to plan daily and weekly activities and determine manpower, materials, plant, tools, and equipment requirements.

• Good understanding of UAE project HSE and QA/QC requirements.

• Strong site coordination, communication, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
