• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 5-7 years of relevant site-based experience in the UAE.
• Proven UAE experience in water, wastewater, sewage treatment plants and/or related utility infrastructure projects.
• Previous TAQA Water Solutions exposure is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of electrical construction, installation, inspection, testing and commissioning.

Job description

The Site Electrical Engineer will be responsible for supervising and coordinating electrical construction activities on site, ensuring that works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, quality requirements, HSE standards, and the approved project schedule.

The role requires hands-on UAE project experience within water, wastewater and/or sewage treatment projects, with preference given to candidates with previous TAQA Water Solutions (TAQA WS) project exposure.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise site electrical teams and activities in accordance with approved shop drawings, method statements, project specifications, and applicable standards.

• Review electrical shop drawings and as-built drawings to ensure compliance with project requirements and actual site conditions.

• Plan site activities on a weekly basis and identify required manpower, materials, tools, and equipment to achieve planned targets.

• Prepare and submit daily and weekly progress reports, including completed activities, upcoming works, constraints, and resource requirements.

• Monitor electrical work progress and productivity on site and ensure activities are completed in accordance with the approved project schedule.

• Identify and resolve technical and construction-related issues in coordination with engineering, project management, consultants, and other relevant disciplines.

• Coordinate electrical works with civil, mechanical, instrumentation/control, and other disciplines to ensure smooth execution and avoid site clashes.

• Ensure implementation of approved HSE procedures and safe working practices across all electrical site activities.

• Monitor the quality of electrical installations and ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, ITPs, and project quality requirements.

• Coordinate and conduct required inspections with QA/QC, consultants, and client representatives prior to acceptance and handover.

• Support testing, commissioning, punch-list clearance, as-built documentation, and final handover of completed electrical works.

• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams to ensure timely availability of materials and completion of assigned works.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

• Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience, with significant site-based experience in the UAE.

• Proven UAE experience in water, wastewater, sewage treatment plants and/or associated utility infrastructure projects is required.

• Previous experience with TAQA Water Solutions projects is highly preferred.

• Strong knowledge of electrical construction, installation, inspection, testing, and commissioning activities.

• Good understanding of electrical drawings, shop drawings, as-built drawings, method statements, ITPs, and technical specifications.

• Ability to independently plan and supervise site activities, manpower, materials, and equipment requirements.

• Strong coordination skills with multidisciplinary construction and engineering teams.

• Good knowledge of UAE project HSE and QA/QC requirements.

• Strong communication, reporting, problem-solving, and site-management skills.
