Job summary

Tanqeeb is seeking an experienced Electrical Supervisor to lead on-site electrical construction and installation in UAE water treatment facilities. Job description

The Electrical Supervisor will be responsible for supervising and coordinating day-to-day electrical construction and installation activities on site, ensuring that works are carried out in accordance with approved shop drawings, project technical specifications, quality requirements, HSE standards, and the approved construction schedule.The role requires hands-on UAE experience in water, wastewater and/or sewage treatment projects, with preference given to candidates who have previously worked on TAQA Water Solutions (TAQA WS) projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise electrical site teams, technicians, electricians, and subcontractor activities in accordance with approved shop drawings, method statements, project specifications, and applicable standards.
• Ensure electrical installation works are executed correctly and in accordance with approved construction requirements.
• Review and understand shop drawings and as-built drawings and ensure that actual site installations comply with project requirements.
• Plan weekly site activities in coordination with the Site Engineer/Project Engineer and identify required manpower, materials, tools, and equipment.
• Prepare and provide inputs for daily and weekly progress reports, including completed works, planned activities, manpower deployment, and site constraints.
• Monitor work progress and productivity and ensure assigned electrical activities are completed in accordance with the approved project schedule.
• Identify site and technical issues and coordinate with the Site Engineer, Project Engineer, and relevant engineering disciplines for timely resolution.
• Coordinate electrical works with civil, mechanical, instrumentation/control, piping, and other disciplines to ensure smooth execution and minimize clashes and rework.
• Supervise electrical installation activities associated with water/wastewater treatment facilities, sewage treatment plants, pumping stations, and related utility infrastructure, as applicable to the project.
• Ensure proper implementation of Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) procedures, permit requirements, toolbox talks, and safe working practices across all assigned activities.
• Monitor workmanship and ensure compliance with project QA/QC requirements, approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and ITPs.
• Coordinate with QA/QC personnel for inspections and ensure works are ready prior to consultant/client inspection.
• Support electrical testing and commissioning, punch-list clearance, rectification works, and final handover activities.
• Coordinate material availability and ensure proper utilization of manpower, tools, equipment, and resources on site.
• Maintain good housekeeping and ensure work areas are organized and safe throughout construction activities.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Diploma / ITI / Technical Qualification in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Technology, or equivalent.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant electrical construction/site experience, with significant hands-on experience in the UAE.
• Proven UAE experience in water, wastewater, sewage treatment plants (STP), pumping stations and/or associated utility infrastructure projects.
• Previous experience on TAQA Water Solutions (TAQA WS) projects is highly preferred.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of electrical installation, construction, inspection, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Ability to read and understand electrical drawings, shop drawings, as-built drawings, method statements, and technical specifications.
• Good experience supervising electricians, technicians, subcontractors, and site manpower.
• Ability to plan daily/weekly activities and determine manpower, materials, tools, and equipment requirements.
• Good understanding of UAE project HSE and QA/QC requirements.
• Strong site coordination, problem-solving, communication, and supervisory skills.
