Job summary

A Site Engineer – Electrical role with ALEC Holdings PJSC requires hands-on supervision of electrical installation on a major data centre project in Abu Dhabi. You will manage day-to-day site execution, coordinate with supervisors, subcontractors, QA/QC, safety and commissioning teams to ensure work aligns with drawings, specs, and programme.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of electrical/MEP on demanding builds, familiarity with UAE regs, plus experience with LV/MV distribution, switchgear,

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of electrical construction/MEP experience on major projects.
• Experience supervising electrical installation works on site.
• UAE construction experience and knowledge of local regs preferred.
• Experience with LV/MV, switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS, ATS and related infra.

Join a project that’s shaping the digital future. We’re looking for an experienced Site Engineer – Electrical to support the successful delivery of a major, high-value data centre project in Abu Dhabi.

In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day execution and supervision of electrical installation works within your assigned area, ensuring activities are completed safely, efficiently and in line with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards and programme requirements.

About Your Team

You will work closely with the Section Manager, Project Engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, QA/QC, HSE, engineering and commissioning teams.

The team is responsible for coordinating and executing electrical works across the project, ensuring activities are properly planned, technically compliant and delivered in line with programme and quality expectations.

Your Role As a Site Engineer, you will:

• Ensure site works comply with contract specs, quality, and safety standards.
• Prepare material submittals and track approvals.
• Develop method statements and risk assessments.
• Monitor procurement schedules and follow up on deliveries.
• Control approved drawings and as-built documentation.
• Inspect works, raise inspection requests, and coordinate with site teams.
• Report progress, delays, and site issues to senior management.
• Support testing, commissioning, and project close-out documentation.
• This role is full time and follows a Monday to Saturday work week, typical for project-based positions in our industry

What We’re Looking For Experience

• Minimum 3–5 years of electrical construction / MEP experience, preferably on major building, infrastructure or mission-critical projects.
• Proven experience supervising electrical installation works on site.
• UAE construction experience is highly preferred, with working knowledge of local regulations and authority requirements.
• Previous exposure to data centre, mission-critical, industrial or technically complex projects would be advantageous.
• Experience with electrical systems such as LV/MV distribution, switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS, ATS, busduct, containment, lighting, earthing and associated electrical infrastructure.

Knowledge & Skills

• Good knowledge of electrical installation, testing and commissioning requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, specifications and technical documentation.
• Understanding of QA/QC procedures, inspections and testing requirements.
• Good site coordination and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively with supervisors, subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced project environment.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience working on data centre or mission-critical projects.
• Familiarity with BIM-enabled coordination and field-management tools.
• Knowledge of UAE electrical regulations, authority requirements and applicable international standards.
• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Electronics Engineering, or equivalent recognised qualification.
