Job summary

ALEMCO, part of ALEC Holdings PJSC, is seeking a Senior Technical Engineer (MEP) to manage complex technical deliverables across major construction projects in the UAE.

You will review drawings, coordinate multidisciplinary interfaces, resolve technical issues, support QA/QC, and guide engineering teams to ensure accurate, practical outputs aligned with project requirements. Experience with data centres and large-scale commercial projects is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum seven years of MEP engineering experience.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks and BIM coordination.

Responsibilities

• Review MEP drawings, specifications, BOQs, and ensure technical compliance.
• Coordinate with consultants and subcontractors for drawing approvals.
• Prepare and review technical submittals, material approvals, and compliance matrices.
• Support method statement preparation and technical documentation.
• Design & site interface: assist in resolving technical clashes and interface issues.
• Support BIM coordination and interdisciplinary alignment.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure installation aligns with drawings.

Are you an experienced MEP Technical Engineer with the expertise to manage complex technical deliverables, coordinate multidisciplinary interfaces, and resolve engineering challenges across major construction projects? ALEMCO is looking for a Senior Technical Engineer (MEP) who can provide advanced technical support, ensure the accuracy and quality of engineering outputs, and bridge the gap between design requirements and practical site execution.

Your Role

Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will provide advanced technical expertise within your assigned area of responsibility. You will review and coordinate engineering deliverables, resolve complex technical issues, support quality and inspection activities, and guide technical personnel to ensure effective project delivery.

You may also oversee technical teams and processes, supporting team development and ensuring that project objectives are achieved.

Key Responsibilities

• Engineering & Technical Coordination Review MEP drawings, specifications, BOQs, and ensure technical compliance
• Coordinate with consultants and subcontractors for drawing approvals
• Prepare and review technical submittals, material approvals, and compliance matrices
• Support method statement preparation and technical documentation
• Design & Site Interface Assist in resolving technical clashes and interface issues
• Support BIM coordination and interdisciplinary alignment
• Conduct site inspections to ensure installation aligns with approved drawings
• Monitor technical deviations and implement corrective actions
• Procurement & Material Support Provide technical evaluation of vendors and materials Support procurement team with technical clarifications Ensure long-lead items are technically aligned with project requirements
• Testing, Commissioning & Handover Support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities Ensure systems comply with performance specifications Assist in preparation of as-built documentation and O&M manuals
• Reporting & Documentation Maintain technical logs, trackers, and engineering registers Prepare technical reports and progress updates Support client meetings with engineering presentations where required

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or another relevant engineering discipline.
• Minimum seven years of relevant MEP engineering experience.
• Advanced technical knowledge of MEP systems and their integration within complex construction projects.
• Strong experience in reviewing drawings, specifications, technical submittals, material submissions, and compliance documentation.
• Proven ability to investigate and resolve complex technical and coordination issues.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, site execution, quality requirements, and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Experience coordinating with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and project-delivery teams.
• Ability to guide engineers and technical personnel and oversee assigned processes or deliverables.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving, review, assessment, and stakeholder-coordination capabilities.
• Ability to work effectively within fast-track and technically demanding project environments.
• Highly Preferred Experience with Auto CAD, Revit, Navisworks, or other relevant engineering and BIM tools.
• Experience in data centres, infrastructure, or large-scale commercial projects.
• Middle East construction experience.
• Exposure to testing, commissioning, and project handover processes.
• Experience working on consultant-driven projects.
• Experience in technical planning, risk assessment, documentation, and reporting.
• Previous experience supervising or guiding engineers and technical teams.
