Job description

Overview

Showroom Manager - Furniture Retail in Dubai, United Arab Emirates focuses on leading Modora, GMG Home's flagship indoor furniture showroom. This role is responsible for showroom P&L, retail and project sales growth, made‑to‑order furniture execution, cabinetry sales, interior designer coordination, sales team leadership, visual merchandising standards, concession management, and premium client experience across a large 3000 sqm destination showroom.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the commercial performance of the Modora flagship showroom, including retail sales, project sales, footfall conversion, average order value, revenue targets, and monthly budget delivery.
  • Manage showroom P&L, operating costs, commercial discipline, and fair application of the retail commission structure across the sales floor.
  • Forecast, track, and report showroom performance while acting on trends across retail revenue, project pipeline, margin, conversion, and customer demand.
  • Lead two interdependent showroom teams, including interior designers and retail salespeople, with clear objectives, accountability, coaching, and performance expectations.
  • Recruit, onboard, develop, and performance‑manage team members against monthly and quarterly targets.
  • Align designer project rewards and salesperson retail commissions so both teams support one another instead of competing for client ownership.
  • Own the full made‑to‑order and customization pipeline, covering client briefs, specification sheets, factory feasibility, client approval, quotation, order placement, production tracking, quality control, delivery, and installation.
  • Enforce process gates for custom orders, including confirmed feasibility before quotation, signed specifications before pricing, one controlled specification sheet per item, and confidentiality of the production partner.
  • Monitor lead times, production quality, order progress, client expectations, and project margin across all custom furniture and made‑to‑order activity.
  • Drive cabinetry as a core category and lead high‑value selling for whole‑room, fitted furniture, and villa‑scale interior projects.
  • Build and manage a strong project pipeline from showroom leads, designer referrals, trade relationships, and premium client opportunities.
  • Quote, negotiate, and close project sales while protecting margin, delivery feasibility, design accuracy, and client satisfaction.
  • Operate a clear designer‑to‑sales handoff model where the client originator remains visible, referral credit is fairly assigned, and project triggers are properly logged.
  • Maintain clean lead attribution, resolve double‑claim situations, and ensure salespeople benefit when passing project‑potential clients to designers.
  • Hold the flagship showroom floor to a designer‑grade visual standard through strong layout planning, room sets, vignettes, product storytelling, styling, and seasonal presentation.
  • Plan and execute seasonal resets, new‑range launches, display updates, and showroom storytelling across the 3000 sqm space.
  • Coordinate the in‑showroom concession and shop‑in‑shop program, including shared floor standards, staffing coordination, visual merchandising, traffic flow, and POS integration.
  • Protect Modora's curation, positioning, brand identity, and premium customer experience while converting concession traffic into furniture and project sales.
  • Build strong relationships with interior designers, architects, stylists, trade clients, and high‑value retail customers who can generate specified project work.
  • Represent Modora professionally with premium clients, design partners, concession partners, internal stakeholders, and external service providers.
  • Manage day‑to‑day showroom operations, display stock, inventory control, delivery coordination, installation follow‑up, and customer service escalations.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety standards, loss‑prevention controls, stock procedures, and operational requirements.
  • Use POS, CRM, stock management, order tracking, and reporting systems to maintain commercial visibility and operational discipline.
  • Create a collaborative floor culture where designers and salespeople work together to convert showroom interest into completed retail and project revenue.
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Retail Management, Interior Design, or a related field is preferred.
  • Qualification in interior design, furniture design, spatial planning, or a design‑related discipline is an advantage.
  • Strong experience leading a premium furniture showroom, home interiors store, design‑led retail concept, or high‑value lifestyle retail operation.
  • Proven ability to manage showroom P&L, operating costs, retail sales targets, project sales pipeline, average order value, footfall conversion, and margin delivery.
  • Experience leading both commissioned retail sales teams and interior design or project sales teams within the same commercial environment.
  • Strong understanding of made‑to‑order furniture, customization workflows, specification sheets, material selection, finishes, dimensions, fabrics, client sign‑off, production tracking, and delivery coordination.
  • Ability to manage cabinetry, whole‑room, villa, and big‑ticket interior project sales from initial brief to final installation.
  • Confident in quoting, negotiating, closing, and protecting margin on high‑value furniture and interior projects.
  • Strong visual merchandising judgment with the ability to maintain designer‑grade showroom standards, room sets, product displays, and seasonal launches.
  • Experience coordinating concession, shop‑in‑shop, or shared‑floor retail partnerships is an advantage.
  • Solid knowledge of POS, CRM, inventory, order tracking, stock management, sales reporting, and performance management systems.
  • Skilled in lead attribution, sales handoff discipline, commission fairness, team coaching, and conflict resolution.
  • Strong client‑facing presence with the ability to build trust with designers, architects, stylists, trade buyers, and high‑value residential clients.
  • Excellent communication, commercial judgment, leadership, operational discipline, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Comfortable working in a premium, fast‑moving showroom environment where design quality, sales performance, and operational accuracy are equally important.
