Job summary

BxT Trading in Dubai seeks a Shipping Market Analyst to support trading floor decisions by delivering high-quality analysis of oil shipping markets. You will work with freight and trading desks and collaborate with Geneva teams to enhance internal tools and publications.

You have a Master’s in economics/engineering/energy, strong Python skills with Streamlit, Pandas, API integrations, and automation. Arabic is a plus; you thrive in a fast-paced, autonomous team.

Qualifications

• Excellent English communication; Arabic is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Understand the drivers of oil shipping and freight markets.
• Collect and structure real-time data on tanker markets and freight rates.
• Develop ad-hoc indicators and decision‑making tools to track market trends.
• Build scenario-based models to interpret signals from the oil and freight markets.
• Identify business needs and develop automated market intelligence tools.
• Provide timely insights to support trading strategies and market positioning.
• Produce regular and ad‑hoc reports for the oil chartering team.
• Contribute to the development of U-TRACK, our proprietary Trading & Shipping tracking tool.

Your mission

Reporting to the Product Charterer and based on the trading floor in Dubai, you will support trading and strategic decisions by delivering high-quality analysis on oil shipping markets. You will work closely with freight and trading desk, as well as with BxT teams in Geneva, contributing to key internal tools, publications, and decision‑making processes.

What you’ll do

• Understand the drivers of oil shipping and freight markets, including refining and trade flows.
• Collect and structure real-time data on tanker markets and freight rates.
• Develop ad-hoc indicators and decision‑making tools to track market trends.
• Build scenario‑based models to interpret signals from the oil and freight markets.
• Identify business needs and develop automated market intelligence tools.
• Provide timely insights to support trading strategies and market positioning.
• Produce regular and ad‑hoc reports for the oil chartering team.

Your profile

• Master’s degree in economics, engineering, or energy.
• Strong understanding of energy markets, trading, and shipping.
• Ability to communicate complex topics clearly in English (Arabic is a plus).
• Strong proficiency in Python programming, with experience developing and maintaining analytical solutions involving tools and libraries such as Streamlit, Pandas, API integrations, and automation. Familiarity with Databricks is an advantage.
• Analytical mindset, rigor, autonomy, and initiative.
• Comfortable working under pressure and with tight deadlines.
