Job summary

Ali & Sons Holding LLC is seeking a skilled Automotive Service Technician for our Abu Dhabi workshop. You will perform servicing, diagnostics, and repairs to MG vehicles, ensuring high-quality workmanship and compliance with SOPs.

The role requires 1+ year of experience, a high diploma in mechanics, and certification; Arabic language advantage. Strong team collaboration and commitment to safety are essential for success in our structured workshop environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience as automotive Service Technician.
• High Diploma in Mechanics or equivalent automotive qualification.
• Brand Advanced Technician Qualification Certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out minor periodic service and maintenance per MG Guidelines and IEM SOP.
• Repair or replace worn, damaged, and faulty vehicle parts per the job order.
• Perform Vehicle Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) per established standards.
• Use VDS scanning tools to read and erase vehicle fault codes.
• Assist Repair and Diagnostic Technicians with repair and diagnostic tasks as needed.
• Maintain tools and workshop inventory in good condition.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out minor periodic service and maintenance in accordance with MG Guidelines and IEM SOP.
• Repair or replace worn, damaged, and faulty vehicle parts according to the assigned job order.
• Perform Vehicle Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) in accordance with established standards.
• Use approved VDS scanning and diagnostic tools to read and erase vehicle fault codes.
• Assist Repair and Diagnostic Technicians with repair and diagnostic activities as required.
• Continuously develop technical knowledge and skills through formal training and technical learning programs.
• Stay updated with rapidly changing automotive technologies, repair methods, and diagnostic techniques.
• Maintain an inventory of standard technician tools and ensure tools are properly maintained and available for use.
• Provide clear and accurate write-ups of tasks performed and highlight any relevant observations or concerns.
• Immediately inform the supervisor of any safety-related issues identified during vehicle inspection or repair.
• Clock in and out of assigned job orders in accordance with standard procedures.
• Coordinate with the Workshop Controller regarding vehicle status and progress.
• Coordinate with the Parts Advisor to obtain the correct parts required for assigned repairs.
• Follow instructions from the supervisor in accordance with company policies, procedures, and SOPs.
• Maintain a professional attitude and appropriate appearance at all times.
• Maintain company assets and ensure all tools and equipment are used responsibly.
• Keep the workshop and assigned work area clean, organized, and safe.
• Comply with all health and safety procedures, regulations, and company requirements.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

Quality & Performance Standards

• Ensure high-quality workmanship across all servicing and repair activities.
• Complete assigned jobs accurately and efficiently in accordance with MG Guidelines and IEM SOP.
• Follow approved repair, diagnostic, and safety procedures at all times.
• Ensure vehicle concerns and repair activities are properly documented.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas to the required standards.
• Identify and report safety-related concerns promptly.
• Support the workshop team in achieving efficient vehicle turnaround and high customer satisfaction.

What We're Looking For

Experience: Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in a similar automotive Service Technician capacity.

Education: High Diploma in Mechanics or an equivalent automotive technical qualification.

Certification / Training: Brand Advanced Technician Qualification Certification is required.

Technical Skills:

• Good knowledge of vehicle servicing and preventive maintenance.
• Ability to perform minor periodic services and vehicle repairs.
• Knowledge of vehicle PDI procedures.
• Experience using vehicle diagnostic and scanning tools, particularly VDS.
• Ability to identify, repair, and replace worn or faulty vehicle components.
• Good understanding of automotive workshop procedures and SOPs.
• Willingness to continuously learn and develop technical skills.

Computer Skills: Computer literate with the ability to use relevant workshop systems and standard computer applications.

Languages: English is preferred; Arabic language skills are an advantage.

Equipment Knowledge: Good knowledge of standard automotive technician tools and workshop equipment. Telephone and computer skills are preferred.
