Job summary

Ali & Sons Marine Engineering Factory (ASMEF) is seeking an automotive technician to service, maintain, and repair MG vehicles in our Abu Dhabi workshop. You will perform standard maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs, ensuring quality workmanship and compliance with MG Guidelines and IEM SOP.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of relevant experience, a Higher Diploma in Mechanics or Automotive Engineering, and a Brand Advanced Technician Qualification.

Qualifications

• 1 year of relevant automotive technician experience.
• Higher Diploma in Mechanics or related technical discipline.
• Brand Advanced Technician Qualification Certification required.
• Fluency in English; Arabic preferred.
• Computer literate with diagnostic/workshop systems knowledge.
• Good knowledge of MG vehicle systems and workshop practices.
• Commitment to health and safety and quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out minor periodic service and maintenance in accordance with MG Guidelines and IEM SOP.
• Repair or replace worn, damaged, or faulty components as per the assigned job order.
• Perform Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) in accordance with required standards.
• Use VDS scanning tools to read, diagnose, and erase vehicle faults.
• Assist Repair and Diagnostic Technicians with repairs and technical tasks as required.
• Continuously develop technical knowledge and skills through formal training and technical updates.
• Maintain an inventory of standard technician tools and ensure they are properly maintained.
• Provide clear and accurate write-ups of work performed, including relevant comments and safety concerns.
• Clock in and out of assigned job orders in accordance with standard procedures.
• Coordinate with the Workshop Controller regarding vehicle status and with the Parts Advisor to obtain the correct parts.
• Follow instructions from the supervisor in accordance with company policies and SOPs.
• Maintain company assets, tools, and equipment in good condition.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Maintain a professional attitude and appearance at all times.
• Adhere to all company health and safety procedures and regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Role Purpose

To ensure the efficient servicing, maintenance, and repair of MG vehicles while maintaining high-quality workmanship in accordance with MG Guidelines and IEM SOP, contributing to vehicle reliability, workshop efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction.

What Were Looking For

Experience: Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a similar automotive technician role.

Education: Higher Diploma in Mechanics, Automotive Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

Certification(s)/Training(s): Brand Advanced Technician Qualification Certification is required.

Languages: Fluency in English is essential; Arabic language skills are preferred.

Computer Skills: Must be computer literate and comfortable using vehicle diagnostic and workshop systems.

Equipment Knowledge: Good knowledge of automotive diagnostic tools, VDS scanning equipment, standard technician tools, and workshop equipment.

Personal Attributes: Strong technical skills, attention to detail, commitment to quality workmanship, willingness to learn, teamwork, discipline, and a strong commitment to health and safety standards.
