Job summary

McDermott International, Ltd in Dubai seeks a Senior Welding Engineer to lead welding engineering and metallurgy activities for offshore, marine, and construction projects. You will develop weld procedures, qualification strategies, and consumables plans while coordinating with customers, certifying authorities, and QA teams.

The role demands a strong background in welding codes and standards, plus experience in mechanized and automatic welding systems, NDT coordination, and project execution

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of directly related experience in welding engineering, metallurgy, or materials within fabrication or construction.
• Strong knowledge of welding procedures, welding qualifications, welding consumables, metallurgy, fabrication methods, and project execution requirements.
• Experience supporting fabrication, marine, offshore, construction, or oil and gas projects.
• Ability to develop project welding execution plans and coordinate weld procedure approvals.

Responsibilities

• Provide welding engineering deliverables and support development projects, technical tasks, and operational requirements.
• Provide metallurgical consultative support to fabrication, marine, operations, field engineering, and project teams.
• Develop the project welding execution plan, including weld procedure scope, qualification schedule, electrode quantities, and material requirements.
• Establish project priorities linked to schedules and review progress against welding engineering deliverables.
• Coordinate review and approval of project weld procedures through communication with customers and certifying authorities.
