Job summary

PACT Engineering FZC in the United Arab Emirates (Sharjah) is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to lead design and engineering of water treatment, desalination, and wastewater plants. You will independently develop process designs, perform calculations, and prepare technical documentation for EPC and packaged treatment projects.

The role involves coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, reviewing vendor offers, and supporting HAZOP, FAT, commissioning, and performance testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Minimum 8-10 years of direct experience in water and wastewater treatment engineering.
• Strong knowledge of RO design, membrane systems, filtration, chemical dosing, and hydraulic calculations.
• Familiarity with AWWA, ASTM, ASME and international water treatment standards.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and engineering calculation tools.
• Experience with membrane design software such as WAVE, ROSA, or equivalent is an advantage.
• Strong technical reporting, engineering documentation, and English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), process descriptions, and design basis documents.
• Perform process calculations, hydraulic calculations, mass balances, and equipment sizing.
• Design and select water and wastewater treatment processes, including RO, UF, MMF; filtration and pretreatment.
• Prepare equipment datasheets and technical specifications for pumps, vessels, filters, blowers, mixers, and chemical dosing systems.
• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, automation, and project engineering teams.
• Support HAZOP, design reviews, FAT, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and performance testing.
