WSP is seeking a Principal Engineer – Water in the UAE to lead the design and delivery of large-scale water and wet utilities projects in Dubai/Sharjah. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, ensure compliance with local standards, and drive technical excellence across hydrology and modelling disciplines.

The role requires UAE-specific project experience, strong leadership, and the ability to mentor engineers while contributing to business development and client relations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Water Engineering, Environmental Engineering or related field.
• 10–12+ years of experience in water infrastructure design, hydrology, or wet utilities engineering in the UAE.
• Proven experience delivering large-scale water/wet utilities projects in the UAE with knowledge of local authority standards.
• Demonstrated leadership in multidisciplinary teams and complex project delivery.
• Advanced proficiency in hydrological and hydraulic modelling tools.

Responsabilités

• Lead end-to-end design and delivery of major water infrastructure projects (potable water, stormwater, foul sewerage, TSE/irrigation).
• Provide technical leadership in hydrology, modelling, and wet utilities design per local authorities and best practices.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across civil, structural, environmental, transport, and other disciplines.
• Deliver design reports, modelling outputs, specifications, drawings, tender docs, and studies.
• Engage with clients, present solutions, and ensure strong stakeholder communication.
• Guide authority submissions and interface with local authorities for timely approvals.
• Mentor and develop junior/mid-level engineers; promote technical excellence.
• Support project managers in planning, budgeting, risk management, and technical strategy.
• Drive QA through internal processes and health & safety adherence.
• Contribute to business development via proposals, bids, and client relations.
• Stay updated on emerging water engineering technologies and trends.
