Job summary

Standard Chartered in the United Arab Emirates seeks a Trade Operations professional to oversee regulatory reporting, daily trade controls, and cross-functional coordination with GBS and country offices to ensure timely processing and robust controls.

The role emphasizes governance, AML/sanctions compliance, and alignment with group policies while engaging regulators, clients, and internal teams across AME.

• AML & sanctions knowledge is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Exhibit qualities aligning with group strategy.
• Ensure human-centric client service at all business stages.
• Support growth, cross-functional advantage, and cost efficiency initiatives.
• Maintain excellent relationships with internal stakeholders for prompt responses.
• Ensure compliance with business targets and regulatory requirements.
• Provide care for clients and deliver service as agreed.
• Own transactions and ensure completion across all stages.
• Handle trade controls recons, analysis, and remediation tasks.
• Perform non-financial regulatory reporting for AME countries.
• Coordinate with RM and internal teams on client referrals, queries and complaints.
• Review daily trade control reports and resolve gaps or exceptions.
• Collaborate with GBS to clear Nostro, Suspense, Sundry, TP/GL recons.
• Ensure timely transaction processing within agreed TAT.
• Monitor AML and sanctions queues and close cases quickly.
• Support GBS and Countries with intragroup arrangements and migrations documentation.
• Assist with ad-hoc requests for investigations or audits.
• Update CDOI with regulatory changes and process notes for non-standard countries.
• Plan staff leaves and ensure backups for seamless delivery.
• Provide ongoing training on DOI and product trainings.
• Comply with Rules/Regulations and Group policies.
• Collaborate with Risk Management to define AME risk appetite.
• Support RCOO in AME governance.
• Uphold ethics and regulatory conduct across Standard Chartered Bank.
• Lead the Trade Operations Team to achieve Conduct Principles.
• Manage key stakeholders including Country Offices, Regulators, and peers.
• Participate in C3 and quality initiatives.
