Sanad Aerotech in Abu Dhabi seeks a Senior Technician for the Machine Shop in the Aviation & Aero Engine MRO division. You will perform precision machining, grinding, drilling, milling, and related tasks on aircraft parts using both conventional and CNC equipment, reporting to the supervisor.

The role requires an associate/technical machining degree, D2 authorization, and 3–5 years of aviation machining experience. Strong English and commitment to safety and continuous improvement are essential.

Qualifications

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Senior Technician for our Machine Shop within the Aviation & Aero Engine MRO division. This role is pivotal in performing precision machining, grinding, drilling, tapping, reaming, extraction of broken screws, Heli-coil installation, milling, and other mechanical tasks on aircraft and engine components. Reporting to the Manager, Senior Supervisor, or Supervisor, you will utilize your expertise to operate both conventional and CNC machinery, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance in a full-time capacity.

Your Responsibilities

• Machining Expertise (70%): Independently perform various mechanical tasks including machining, grinding, drilling, and milling on aircraft parts, interpret technical manuals and engineering drawings, and operate conventional and CNC machines such as horizontal and vertical lathes, milling machines, and 5-axis CNC milling machines.
• Quality Control (10%): Inspect and release completed work to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications.
• Safety and Compliance (10%): Maintain strict compliance with company quality, safety, health, and environmental regulations, and actively participate in safety programs.
• Maintenance and Tool Calibration (5%): Perform housekeeping duties, oversee equipment maintenance, and ensure tool calibration for optimal performance.
• Continuous Improvement (5%): Contribute to process improvement initiatives and pursue training opportunities to enhance skills and machining processes.

Who we are looking for

The ideal candidate will possess an associate, vocational, or technical school degree relevant to machining and hold D2 level authorization in machine shop practices. You should have 3 to 5 years of progressive experience as a machinist within the aviation industry and demonstrate proficiency in operating conventional machines and CNC equipment including Doosan and Toshulin CNC VTLs, Spinner CNC lathe, Deckel CNC milling, and CNC EDM.

Strong skills in interpreting complex engineering drawings, using precision measuring instruments, and performing mechanical tasks such as drilling, tapping, and Heli-coil installation are essential. Additionally, you should have good communication skills in English, a strong commitment to safety and compliance, and a proactive attitude towards continuous improvement and professional development.
