Job summary

Tanqeeb in Abu Dhabi is seeking a seasoned machine shop professional with extensive experience in precision machining and refurbishment of industrial components. You will read engineering drawings, operate lathes and related tools, and ensure parts meet tight tolerances to drawings and OEM specs.

Qualifications

• Secondary education or equivalent relevant skilled experience.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in machine shop operations.
• Extensive experience operating various machine tools and performing precision machining to fine tolerances.
• Ability to interpret fabrication drawings, engineering sketches, and technical specifications.
• Good working knowledge of English.
• Experience in manufacturing, repair, and refurbishment of industrial machinery components.
• Ability to pass the physical fitness test as per company requirements.

Responsibilities

Job description

1. Operate lathes and various machine tools to manufacture, repair, and refurbish industrial machinery components.

2. Manufacture and refurbish shafts, HP plungers, pistons, packing cup rings, gears, couplings, bushes, sleeves, flanges, and other precision components.

3. Operate special gap lathes, boring, drilling, shaping, ruling, and grinding machines.

4. Perform precision machining, metal spraying of pump shafts, and other specialized machining operations.

5. Interpret engineering drawings, fabrication drawings, sketches, and OEM specifications to determine machining requirements.

6. Use precision measuring instruments such as callipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools to verify dimensions and tolerances.

7. Carry out plunger refurbishment and precision machining operations.

8. Perform precision measurement of machined plunger surfaces using a Perthometer and ensure compliance with acceptable surface finish requirements.

9. Inspect completed work to ensure conformity with technical specifications and quality standards.

10. Carry out preventive maintenance of machine tools and workshop equipment.

11. Check machine alignments and perform minor repairs or modifications to machine shop equipment, as required.

12. Maintain adequate stocks of consumables and report shortages of raw materials to the Supervisor.

13. Organize machine tool attachments and accessories with proper identification and storage.

14. Ensure measuring instruments are submitted for calibration as required.

15. Maintain proper housekeeping, waste segregation, and cleanliness of machines and work premises.

16. Comply with company HSE, PTW, e-WMS, PPE, and fire safety procedures.

17. Perform duties as a Certified Job Performer (JP), as required.
