Job summary

CHINA CONSTRUCTION EIGHTH ENGINEERING DIVISION CORPORATION LIMITED - DUBAI BRANCH is seeking a Civil/Mechanical Engineer to review and coordinate drawings for warehouses and industrial facilities. You will prepare shop drawings, coordinate with consultants and site teams, and ensure compliance with project specs and approvals.

Ideal candidates have 5–10 years of hands-on experience with steel-structure projects, strong coordination and problem-solving skills, and proficiency in AutoCAD and MS

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
• 5–10 years of construction experience with steel structures.
• Experience coordinating steel structure and industrial building projects.
• Familiarity with shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and approvals.
• UAE construction experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and coordinate architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings for warehouses and industrial buildings.
• Prepare and review shop drawings, steel fabrication drawings, and as-built drawings.
• Coordinate steel structure requirements including columns, beams, purlins, roofing, and wall cladding.
• Review foundation drawings, anchor bolts, concrete works, and industrial flooring.
• Prepare technical submittals, RFIs, method statements, and material approvals.
• Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams.
• Provide technical support for steel fabrication, erection, and civil works.
• Ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, and authority requirements.
• Maintain technical documentation and support site inspections, testing, snagging, and project handover.

Job description

• Review and coordinate architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings for warehouse buildings, industrial buildings, factories, and single-storey steel structure projects.
• Prepare and review shop drawings, steel fabrication drawings, construction drawings, and as-built drawings.
• Coordinate technical requirements for steel structure works, including columns, beams, rafters, trusses, purlins, bracing, roofing, and wall cladding.
• Review foundation drawings, anchor bolt layouts, concrete works, and industrial flooring requirements.
• Prepare and follow up on technical submittals, Requests for Information (RFIs), method statements, material approvals, and consultant comments.
• Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams to resolve technical issues and ensure smooth project execution.
• Provide technical support for steel fabrication, erection, installation, and associated civil works.
• Ensure construction activities comply with approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, and applicable authority requirements.
• Maintain technical documentation and support site inspections, testing, snagging, and project handover.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• 5-10 years of relevant experience in construction, with proven exposure to steel-structure warehouses, industrial buildings, factories, or Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEB).
• Practical experience in technical coordination for steel structure and industrial building projects.
• Strong knowledge of structural steel works, fabrication and erection drawings, foundations, anchor bolts, roofing, and wall cladding.
• Experience in shop drawings, technical submittals, RFIs, material approvals, and coordination with consultants and subcontractors.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
• UAE construction experience is preferred.
• Strong technical, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
