Senior Structural Inspector – On-Site UAE Buildings

Job summary

Egis is seeking a Structural Inspector for buildings projects in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The role ensures structural works on site follow IFC drawings, shop drawings, method statements, and authority regulations.

You will coordinate with engineers, architects, and specialists to resolve issues and maintain QA/QC records. Required: Civil Engineering degree and at least 8 years in UAE structural site inspection; strong report writing; fluent English; UAE driver’s license; ability to travel between sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Minimum 8 years of UAE structural site inspection experience (consultant exp preferred).
• Strong understanding of structural materials, workmanship, and deterioration mechanisms.
• Knowledge of UAE building codes and international standards.
• Ability to interpret IFC/shop drawings, ITPs, and method statements with high accuracy.
• Proficiency with QA/QC procedures and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily site inspections for all structural works with IFC/shop drawings and method statements.
• Monitor contractor activities to ensure UAE authority compliance and international standards.
• Identify deviations and issue NCRs and site observation reports as required.
• Review concrete works, reinforcement, formwork, structural steel, foundations, and waterproofing interfaces.
• Coordinate with engineers, architects, and specialists to resolve structural issues.
• Verify documentation and testing records (cube tests, FDT, plate load tests, calibration certificates).
• Ensure QA/QC procedures and method statements are followed.
• Provide guidance to contractors to resolve site-related issues promptly.
• Maintain organized inspection records with photos and comments.
• Ensure health and safety protocols are followed.
