Job summary

AECOM is hiring a Structural Inspector - Building Construction in Abu Dhabi to oversee on-site inspections, verify against designs, and ensure compliance with UAE codes. Ideal candidates will have 6+ years in structural inspection, strong drawing interpretation, and robust QA/QC experience within large-scale construction.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of structural inspection experience.
• Knowledge of UAE building codes and construction safety regulations.
• Ability to read structural drawings, specifications and schedules.
• Proven QA/QC procedures and non-conformance handling experience.
• Strong reporting skills and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed inspections of structural works across active construction sites.
• Verify components against drawings, specifications, method statements and standards.
• Monitor progress to ensure conformity with approved structural requirements and sequencing.
• Inspect materials and completed work for quality, integrity and workmanship.
• Identify defects and non-conformities requiring corrective action.
• Document findings with inspection reports, measurements and photos.
• Coordinate with project management, engineers and contractors to resolve issues.
• Reinspect corrected works and confirm acceptance criteria are met.
• Maintain organized inspection registers and project documentation.
• Communicate inspection results clearly to stakeholders and monitor safety compliance.
