Job summary

AECOM in Abu Dhabi is seeking a detail-oriented Structural Inspector to oversee on-site structural work, ensure compliance with building codes, safety standards, and project specifications. You will conduct thorough inspections and maintain comprehensive documentation to support quality objectives.

You will coordinate with project teams, prepare inspection reports, verify material quality, and track progress while upholding UAE regulations and health and environmental requirements.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in structural inspection and site supervision.
• Strong knowledge of building codes and UAE regulations.
• Ability to analyze structural systems and construction methods.
• Excellent documentation and report-writing skills.
• Ability to coordinate with diverse teams.
• Experience with CAD or construction management tools preferred.

Job Description

We're looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Structural Inspector to join our team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In this role, you will oversee structural work on construction sites, ensuring compliance with building codes, safety standards, and project specifications. As a key member of our site supervision team, you will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections, identifying potential issues, and maintaining comprehensive documentation to support project quality and safety objectives.

• Conduct detailed structural inspections of building components, materials, and construction methods to verify compliance with approved plans and specifications
• Monitor construction activities on-site to ensure adherence to safety protocols, building codes, and UAE regulatory requirements
• Analyze structural elements and construction techniques, identifying deficiencies or deviations and recommending corrective actions
• Prepare comprehensive inspection reports documenting findings, observations, and recommendations for project stakeholders
• Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and engineering teams to address inspection findings and resolve construction issues
• Verify quality of materials and workmanship, ensuring all work meets established standards and project requirements
• Maintain organized records of all inspections, test results, and compliance documentation
• Communicate inspection results and recommendations clearly to site personnel and project management
• Perform site walkthroughs and progress assessments to track construction advancement and identify potential risks
• Ensure all site activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations

Qualifications

• Minimum 6+ years of professional experience in structural inspection and site supervision
• Strong knowledge of building codes, construction standards, and UAE regulatory requirements
• Proficiency in analyzing structural systems, materials, and construction methodologies
• Excellent documentation and report-writing skills with attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple inspection activities simultaneously
• Sound understanding of safety protocols and quality assurance procedures
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective coordination with diverse teams
• Analytical and problem-solving capabilities to assess structural concerns and recommend solutions
• Professional demeanor and decision-making authority in site supervision scenarios
• Preferred: Experience with CAD software or construction management programs
• Preferred: Familiarity with construction management software and digital documentation systems
• Preferred: Previous experience working on construction projects in the UAE
• Preferred: Knowledge of structural engineering principles and building materials
