Job summary

Dar, a leading international multidisciplinary consulting organization, seeks an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to lead on-site teams for building, commercial and airport projects. You will oversee day-to-day structural activities, coordinate with contractors, conduct inspections, ensure quality and safety, and collaborate with project managers, architects, and other disciplines to meet milestones.

The role requires a Master’s or Bachelor’s in Civil/Structural Engineering and 15+ years

Qualifications

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 15+ years of experience in Structural Engineering projects.
• Strong understanding of building systems, codes and regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritize workloads and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the on-site structural engineering team per project specs, quality and safety.
• Manage day-to-day on-site structural activities, coordinating with contractors.
• Conduct regular inspections of foundations, columns, beams and slabs.
• Implement and maintain quality control for materials and workmanship.
• Perform structural calculations and provide guidance for safe methods.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects and other disciplines to meet milestones.
• Facilitate clear communication between stakeholders and address structural concerns.
• Provide input to the monthly progress reports to the Resident Engineer.
• Maintain site documentation: daily reports, inspection records and non-compliance reports.
• Ensure on-site activities comply with local codes, safety regulations and environmental standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the on-site structural engineering team, ensuring work adheres to project specifications, quality standards, and safety protocols.
• Manage the day-to-day structural activities on-site, coordinating with contractors and subcontractors to achieve project milestones.
• Conduct regular inspections of structural elements, including foundations, columns, beams, and slabs, ensuring they meet project and regulatory standards.
• Implement and maintain quality control measures for materials and workmanship, preventing defects and ensuring structural integrity.
• Conduct additional structural calculations and provide technical guidance to ensure construction methods are safe and compliant.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, and other engineering disciplines to align structural activities with overall project goals and timelines.
• Facilitate clear communication between stakeholders, addressing structural concerns and clarifying technical details to maintain workflow efficiency.
• Provides input to the monthly progress report as directed by the Resident Engineer.
• Maintain detailed site documentation, including daily reports, inspection records, and non-compliance reports, for project tracking and audit purposes.
• Ensure all on-site structural activities comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.

Requirements

• Master’s / Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
• 15+ years of experience in Structural Engineering projects related to building /commercial /airport.
• Strong understanding of building systems, codes, and regulations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to prioritize workloads and meet deadlines.
