Job summary

Dar is seeking a senior Project Controls/Planning professional to lead schedule development for complex construction programs in the UAE. You will manage master schedules, WBS, and critical path analyses to support project decisions and progress reporting.

The role requires 15+ years in civil engineering environments, strong planning, contract administration exposure, and advanced MS Office skills. On-site work in Dubai with large-scale infrastructure and airport projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or similar.
• Experience in project control/planning process and contract administration on major projects.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Planning and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare schedule data for proposals or contract negotiations and verify that the correct scope of work is reflected on assigned schedules.
• Review planning and scheduling of work to ensure that activities are effectively planned, resourced and completed.
• Develop project codes of accounts and WBS, and recommend modifications for new work items assigned.
• Check and review the most appropriate construction method/sequence prepared by the Planning Engineer with the Project Manager.
• Establish methods for determining activity durations within assigned disciplines or specialties.
• Determine critical-path activities for assigned disciplines and identify inter-discipline requirements and critical path items.
• Review schedule data and acquire information needed to complete work logics to interface between disciplines.
• Identify, analyze and monitor schedule deviations and propose corrective action/work-around solutions.
• Develop and write the schedule commentary for monthly progress and reports, and prepare the Critical Items Action Report.
• Prepare and develop the master schedule and WBS for each project.
• Perform critical path analysis and identify areas of concern.
• Perform any other jobs as may be assigned by the superiors.

Responsibilities

• To prepare schedule data for proposals or contract negotiations as requested and checks and confirms that the correct scope of work is reflected on assigned schedules.
• Review planning and scheduling of work to ensure that activities are effectively planned, resourced and completed.
• Develops specific project codes of accounts and work breakdown structures, and recommends appropriate modifications and revisions for new work items assigned.
• Check and review the most appropriate method and sequence of construction operations prepared by the Planning Engineer for a particular project, in conjunction with the Project Manager.
• Establishes and implements methods for determining activity durations within assigned disciplines or specialties.
• Determines critical-path activities for assigned discipline or specialties and identifies significant activities supporting inter- discipline requirements and identifies critical path for discipline or specialty work activities.
• Reviews schedule data, identifies and acquires information needed to complete work logics to interface between assigned disciplines, specialties and/or projects.
• Identifies, analyzes and monitors schedule deviations for assigned disciplines or specialties including contractor submittals and recommends corrective action/work-around solutions for project considerations.
• Develops and writes the schedule commentary that appears in the monthly progress and similar reports. Identifies and reports activities that have a critical or potential impact on the schedule and prepares and presents the Critical Items Action Report.
• Prepare and develop the master schedule for construction projects and the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for each project.
• Perform critical path analysis and identify areas of concern.
• Perform any other jobs as may be assigned by the superiors.

Requirements

• Minimum 15 years of experience with Bachelor’s degrees in civil engineering or similar.
• Relevant experience in project control/planning process, and contract administration obtained through wide exposure to major projects like- airport, building, infrastructure and more.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Planning and project management skills.
