AKIJ Shipping Line Ltd. is seeking a seasoned Chartering Specialist to lead end-to-end vessel chartering, from enquiry through post-fixture handover, while sourcing cargoes and negotiating freight terms.

The role requires 5+ years in shipping, strong market analysis, and proficiency in GENCON/NYPE forms, with excellent English communication. Dubai office-based position offering growth in a global fleet.

Qualifications

5+ years in shipping, preferably in dry bulk chartering, ship operations, trading or commercial roles.
Proven exposure to freight negotiation, voyage estimating and charter party administration.
Experience with GENCON, NYPE or similar charter forms is preferred.
Strong market analysis, TCE and chartering decision support capabilities.
Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.

Responsabilités

Lead end-to-end vessel chartering from enquiry to post-fixture handover.
Source cargoes and negotiate freight, hire and commercial terms for profitable employment.
Benchmark charter hire and freight rates against the Baltic Dry Index (BDI).
Analyze freight markets, trade flows and macro trends to spot opportunities.
Prepare voyage estimates, TCE calculations and trading positions for each fixture.
Coordinate vessel deployment, voyage planning and logistics with Operations/Technical teams.
Manage bunker requisitions, RFQs, supplier negotiations and bunker contracts.
Draft and administer charter parties; ensure accuracy with Legal and Compliance.
Monitor risks, demurrage/despatch and escalate exposures with proposed actions.
Build relationships with shipowners, charterers, brokers and port agents.
