Job summary

Emirates Electrical & Instrumentation Company in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced rigging specialist to prepare, inspect, and set up rigging systems for lifting heavy equipment and structures in oil and gas facilities, both onshore and offshore.

You will select appropriate gear, attach and secure loads to cranes, signal operators during lifts, dismantle equipment after use, and conduct regular inspections to ensure safety, compliance with LOLER and site protocols, and reliable performance.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of rigging experience in oil and gas projects.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification in rigging and lifting operations.
• LOLER or similar safety certifications preferred.
• Experience with cranes and hoisting equipment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and inspect rigging equipment before use to ensure it is safe and functional.
• Set up rigging for lifting and moving heavy equipment and structures in oil and gas facilities onshore and offshore.
• Select the appropriate rigging gear (slings, shackles, chains, wire ropes) based on load weight and dimensions.
• Attach and secure loads to cranes or other lifting devices following strict safety procedures.
• Signal or communicate with crane operators to guide lift movements.
• Safely dismantle rigging equipment and store it after use.
• Collaborate with crane operators and team members to execute lifts efficiently and safely.
• Conduct inspections of rigging equipment regularly and report damages or maintenance needs.
• Ensure compliance with industry safety standards and site-specific safety protocols.
• Assist in loading and unloading of heavy materials and machinery at project sites.
