Job summary

Commercial Bank of Dubai is seeking a senior professional to lead contracting client relations and grow a contracting portfolio across the UAE and GCC. The role works closely with the Team Head and Assistant Relationship Managers to secure opportunities, manage risk, and deliver multi-product client solutions.

The candidate will build strong external relationships, design strategic plans, and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements, while mentoring junior team

Qualifications

• Degree in Economics or Finance or Business Management.
• 9–10 years of experience in corporate banking, with a minimum of 3 years of exposure to the contracting industry.
• Commercial acumen and ability to prepare plans and strategies.
• Ability to build close relationships with external constituents as a senior representative of the Bank.

Responsibilities

• Identify, solicit and acquire new contracting clients in line with approved corporate strategies for liabilities, trade and financial products to meet sales targets.
• Study market opportunities, assess their potential and recommend opportunities that benefit the Bank from a risk and reward perspective.
• Build, manage and maintain a portfolio of contracting-related clients in the UAE and wider GCC region, ensuring risk intake is properly managed, returns are optimized and relationships are cultivated.
• Identify, secure and solicit business opportunities in the contracting segment while ensuring compliance with internal policies, external regulations and the applicable banking legal framework.
• Mentor a Relationship Officer, where applicable, by setting and measuring targets and providing guidance to enhance capability and performance.

Job Purpose:

Professional management and maintenance of contracting client relations, while building the contracting portfolio for CBD. The role is performed in coordination with the Team Head and Assistant Relationship Managers.

Principal Accountabilities:

Identify, secure and solicit business opportunities in the contracting segment while ensuring compliance with internal policies, external regulations and the applicable banking legal framework.

Study market opportunities, assess their potential and recommend opportunities that benefit the Bank from a risk and reward perspective.

Build, manage and maintain a portfolio of contracting-related clients in the UAE and wider GCC region, ensuring risk intake is properly managed, returns are optimized, cross-sell opportunities are maximized and relationships are cultivated to support the team’s growth targets.

Identify, solicit and acquire new contracting clients in line with approved corporate strategies for liabilities, trade and financial products to meet sales targets. Assist the Team Head in setting and implementing the strategy for the contracting business line for CBD.

Seek credit-mitigating solutions to reduce risk or improve return on equity on a client or transaction basis where applicable, including structuring and arranging structured transactions.

Conduct regular client visits for monitoring and business generation purposes, recording visits through timely call reports that include all relevant information.

Conduct account planning with Client Service Team Members and cross-sell other products and services to contracting clients to ensure a multi-product relationship and greater share of wallet. Facilitate other lines of business by identifying referral opportunities.

Establish effective and professional communication, internally and externally, to ensure turnaround times remain within designated parameters and client satisfaction is enhanced.

Ensure timely and accurate credit administration through completion of annual reviews and regular monitoring of financials, financial covenants and other parameters within the review cycle.

Mentor a Relationship Officer, where applicable, by setting, agreeing and measuring annual targets in coordination with the Head of Institutional Banking Dubai and Contract Financing, and by providing professional advice, guidance, training and motivation to enhance capability and support performance reviews.

Comply with internal audit requirements, policy guidelines, regulatory and Central Bank requirements, while upholding the highest professional standards.

Keep abreast of developments in the local and regional business environment to identify opportunities and contribute to the planning process for corporate business strategies.
