Job summary

Sungrow in Dubai is expanding its advanced real-time simulation capabilities, seeking a highly technical HIL Simulation Engineer for the local hardware-in-the-loop lab to strengthen our real-time simulation laboratory.

In this hands-on individual contributor role, you will validate grid compliance for utility-scale BESS and PV inverters using real-time platforms, bridging regional teams and HQ, driving timely technical resolutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on experience in real-time simulation, HIL testing, or inverter/BESS control validation.
• Strong technical leadership as an individual contributor with influence.
• Deep understanding of grid interconnection and utility-scale operation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain CHIL and PHIL test environments using real-time platforms.
• Lead verification and certification activities to comply with major grid codes (IEEE 1547, VDE-AR-N 4110/4120, EREC G99, NEM).
• Develop dynamic plant models including inverter and PPC logic; validate them.
• Drive test automation using Python or similar tools to improve efficiency.
• Serve as escalation point for complex control, communication (Modbus, DNP3, IEC 61850) issues.
