Job summary

Sungrow MENA & Central Asia in Dubai seeks a lead HIL/PHIL testing and lab manager to architect, develop, and maintain CHIL/PHIL environments, verify grid code standards, and validate dynamic plant models.

The role includes automating test workflows with Python, guiding a team of engineers, overseeing lab operations, budgeting, procurement, and ensuring safety and standards while collaborating with marketing, clients, and sales to demonstrate capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related field.
• 5+ years in power systems simulation, HIL testing, or inverter validation.
• 2+ years in leadership, management, or principal engineer role.

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop and maintain CHIL/PHIL test environments using RTDS and OPAL-RT.
• Lead verification of grid-code compliance for BESS and PV inverters.
• Oversee model development and validation of dynamic plant/inverter/PPC logic.
• Drive automated testing frameworks (e.g., Python) to improve lab efficiency.
• Manage day-to-day HIL lab operations and calibration of equipment.
• Hire, mentor, and train HIL/Simulation Engineers; foster excellence.
• Budgeting, procurement, and safety/compliance for the lab.
• Collaborate with marketing, sales, and clients for demonstrations.
