Job summary

DHL Global Forwarding in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, is seeking a Senior Rate Management Specialist to own complex rate and costing processes across systems and regions. You will lead data accuracy improvements, automation initiatives, and serve as a subject matter expert for internal stakeholders.

You will mentor juniors, drive tariff governance, and collaborate with commercial and operations teams to align rate loading with customer needs.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent commercial experience/qualification
• Experience: more than 2 years in Ocean Freight operations, pricing, or rating
• Language: Fluent in English

Responsibilities

• Contract & Tariff Management: Manage complex customer contracts and country tariffs, including governance and updates in systems (e.g. CW1, RMS)
• System Accuracy: Ensure high-level accuracy and consistency of rates and costs, including validation of currencies and exchange rates
• Auto-Rating & Auto-Costing: Lead improvements in system-driven rating and costing processes, including integration with QuoteShop and other platforms
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a key liaison with commercial and operational teams to ensure strategic alignment of rate loading with customer needs
• Charge Code Expertise: Maintain deep expertise in Ocean Freight charge codes, calculators, USRs, and side charges; advise on complex scenarios
• Service Standards Support: Support non-standard operational rates and cost impacts in line with DGF Service Standards
• Global Account Coordination: Coordinate with global account teams to assess and improve local impacts of Global Customer accounts
• Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives to enhance automation, digitalization, and process optimization
• Issue Resolution: Resolve complex system errors and lead root cause analysis across rate-relevant systems (e.g. CW1, RMS, Cargosphere)
