• Execute necessary regulatory compliance procedures relating to commodities and locations for shipments.
• Maintain close business relationships with existing clients, identify potential upsell opportunities and achieve customer retention.
• Study and resolve day-to-day delivery issues and contribute to best practices for Ocean Freight Operations focusing on efficiency with the transportation management system.
• Support performance monitoring of suppliers and propose corrective actions.

The role ensures service commitments are met, customer expectations are managed, and operational processes are executed efficiently. The Specialist contributes to profitability through accurate routing, documentation, and invoicing, while maintaining compliance and supporting issue resolution.

In this Ocean Freight Customer Relations Specialist position

• Administer shipment level activities including receipt of customer booking, documentation requirements, and all related local and international transport
• Act as Customer first point of contact for shipment information, exception / complaint management and claims
• Support shipment routing and assignment to ensure customer service commitments are in line with the service promise and profit maximized, while also preparing accurate invoices and supporting documentation, and addressing invoice disputes. Own the profitability of the file.
• Execute necessary regulatory compliance procedures relating to commodity and locations for shipments
• Maintain close business relationship with existing clients, identify potential upsell opportunities and achieve a desired level of customer retention
• Study and resolve issues in day-to-day delivery and contribute to best practices for Ocean Freight Operations focusing on increasing effectiveness and efficiency with the use of the transportation management system.
• Support performance monitoring of suppliers and propose corrective actions.
• Participate in PDs and GEMBA activities and share improvement ideas proactively

Other Areas in Ocean Freight Operations

• Assist in transport order creation and/or confirmation, booking optimization, and document preparation.
• Update Customs shipment information and physical status, resolve customer issues and incidents
