Job summary

Dutco Group is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support infrastructure, road, and marine projects in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. You will manage cost and commercial activities across the project lifecycle, ensuring accurate budgets, effective contract administration, and sound financial control.

Key responsibilities include preparing cost plans and tender documents, reviewing drawings for cost impacts, managing variations and final accounts, and mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related discipline.
• Extensive experience as a Quantity Surveyor with senior responsibility on infrastructure, road, and/or marine projects.
• Experience delivering projects in the UAE, preferably Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
• Strong knowledge of cost planning, measurement, bills of quantities, valuations, variations, claims, and final accounts.
• Familiarity with UAE construction contracts, including FIDIC forms.
• Experience with civil infrastructure works such as roads, utilities, drainage, earthworks, and marine or coastal construction.
• Proficiency in quantity surveying and cost-management software, plus Microsoft Excel and Office applications.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, communication, and report-writing skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Professional membership or accreditation such as RICS is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost plans, estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documentation for infrastructure, road, and marine works.
• Review drawings, specifications, and project documents to identify scope, quantities, risks, and potential cost impacts.
• Manage the commercial administration of contracts, including variations, claims, payment applications, and final accounts.
• Monitor project costs, commitments, cash flow, and forecasts, and provide regular commercial reports.
• Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations, negotiate commercial terms, and support procurement decisions.
• Measure and value completed work, including civil, earthworks, utilities, pavement, drainage, coastal, and marine construction activities.
• Support tender preparation, bid analysis, contract negotiations, and client or consultant correspondence.
• Maintain accurate records of contractual notices, correspondence, valuations, and commercial decisions.
• Work with project teams to resolve commercial matters and identify risks/opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with contract requirements, project procedures, and UAE standards/regulations.
• Mentor junior quantity surveyors and contribute to improving commercial processes and reporting.
