Job summary

Kn UAE seeks an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its Head Office in Abu Dhabi, bringing extensive pre-contract cost estimation and BOQ expertise for large infrastructure projects. The role focuses on preparing detailed cost estimates, tender documentation, and commercial risk assessment, coordinating with engineers and suppliers to keep projects commercially viable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management.
• 8–12 years of relevant experience, including ≥5 years on UAE infrastructure projects.
• Strong pre-contract cost estimation, BOQ preparation and tendering experience.
• Good understanding of drawings, specs, contracts and commercial requirements.
• Proficiency with CostX or PlanSwift; MS Excel and estimating databases.
• Familiarity with Primavera P6 is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, numerical and reporting capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Review design drawings, specs and contract documents to understand project scope.
• Prepare and check quantity take-offs and BOQs for accuracy.
• Develop detailed cost estimates for materials, labor and equipment.
• Document basis of estimates, assumptions, exclusions and cost comparisons.
• Break down scope into work packages to support estimates.
• Prepare tender documents, scope sheets and RFQs from suppliers.
• Review quotations and compare against historical data.
• Identify commercial and contractual risks and their impact on costs.
• Maintain cost databases and update with market prices.
• Coordinate with engineers and estimators to finalize accurate estimates.
