Senior Project Manager – Stadiums in Dubai, United Arab Emirates is a senior construction opportunity with Parsons Corporation supporting the delivery of major sports and entertainment venues. The role will manage stadium projects across design, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning, operational readiness, venue activation, and final handover while maintaining control of scope, schedule, cost, quality, safety, and project risk.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day‑to‑day delivery of major stadium, arena, and sports venue developments from design through final handover.
- Support the Project Director in achieving approved objectives for scope, schedule, cost, quality, safety, sustainability, and risk.
- Establish clear delivery priorities across design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and venue‑readiness activities.
- Lead multidisciplinary design coordination involving architecture, structures, civil works, MEP services, landscape, ICT, security, and specialist venue systems.
- Review design progress, technical submissions, package interfaces, and outstanding decisions that could affect construction.
- Coordinate consultants, contractors, subcontractors, specialist vendors, operators, and third‑party stakeholders.
- Monitor construction progress against approved schedules, contractual milestones, and package delivery plans.
- Oversee project planning, reporting, progress measurement, forecasting, and project controls activities.
- Track procurement status, technical approvals, manufacturing, equipment delivery, installation, and long‑lead items.
- Manage stadium‑specific facilities including spectator seating, concourses, hospitality suites, VIP areas, athlete spaces, and media facilities.
- Coordinate broadcast infrastructure, audiovisual systems, telecommunications, access control, security, scoreboards, and venue technology.
- Ensure that food and beverage facilities, public amenities, back‑of‑house areas, and operational support spaces meet project requirements.
- Maintain effective coordination between venue structures, building services, external works, utilities, transport connections, and public‑realm packages.
- Review contractor programmes, recovery plans, resource forecasts, technical proposals, and sequencing strategies.
- Identify design, construction, commercial, operational, and stakeholder risks before they affect critical milestones.
- Develop mitigation measures and ensure responsible parties complete agreed corrective actions.
- Manage project budgets, forecasts, variations, change requests, and commercial reporting in coordination with the commercial team.
- Support contract administration, claims assessment, payment reviews, and evaluation of proposed scope changes.
- Monitor testing and commissioning activities across MEP, life‑safety, security, technology, utilities, and specialist venue systems.
- Coordinate integrated systems testing to confirm that connected venue systems perform correctly under normal and emergency scenarios.
- Support operational readiness planning, operator training, asset documentation, trial events, and venue activation.
- Ensure defects, commissioning observations, and incomplete works are recorded, assigned, and closed before handover.
- Coordinate approvals, inspections, permits, certifications, and interfaces with authorities and service providers.
- Maintain compliance with project governance, quality assurance, health and safety, and sustainability requirements.
- Lead progress, design, technical, risk, and coordination meetings with delivery teams and stakeholders.
- Maintain action registers, decision logs, risk registers, change records, and issue‑resolution trackers.
- Prepare executive reports, programme dashboards, management presentations, briefing papers, and progress summaries.
- Provide clear recommendations to the Project Director regarding delivery risks, corrective measures, and management decisions.
- Promote accountable teamwork and effective communication across multiple project packages and disciplines.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Project Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in project management, design management, construction management, or programme delivery.
- At least 5 years of experience as a Senior Project Manager on major developments.
- Demonstrated involvement in stadiums, arenas, sports facilities, airports, convention centers, entertainment venues, or comparable public‑use infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of the full project lifecycle, including design, procurement, construction, commissioning, operational readiness, and handover.
- Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary designers, contractors, specialists, operators, and stakeholder groups.
- Experience coordinating complex technical interfaces between building structures, MEP services, technology, security, operations, and external infrastructure.
- Working knowledge of stadium operations, spectator movement, crowd circulation, hospitality services, athlete facilities, and event‑readiness requirements.
- Experience managing project controls, budgets, forecasts, change, risk, and commercial matters.
- Ability to review technical submissions, contractor proposals, construction programmes, progress reports, and commissioning documentation.
- Strong understanding of quality management, construction safety, sustainability, and project governance.
- Experience coordinating authority approvals, utility connections, permits, and statutory inspections.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple workstreams and make sound decisions in a fast‑track project environment.
- Excellent written and verbal English with strong executive reporting and presentation skills.
- Master's degree in a related discipline is preferred.
- PMP or an equivalent project management accreditation is desirable.
- Chartered or professionally registered status would be an advantage.
