Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with project teams to understand contract billing requirements, invoicing milestones, payment terms, and supporting documentation needs.
- Prepare and review customer invoices for third‑party clients in line with approved contract terms and project requirements.
- Prepare information required for intercompany project billing and ensure supporting records are accurate and complete.
- Confirm intercompany balances and review related project information for consistency across internal systems and reports.
- Prepare unbilled cost accruals and ensure costs are properly recognized, processed, and recorded.
- Generate and review executive summary reports for intercompany projects, checking alignment between financial and project information.
- Run monthly system audit trail reports and review business unit activity for accounting or classification issues.
- Run and analyze Accounts Receivable Contract Status Reports, Accounts Receivable Aging Reports, and Unapplied Cash Reports.
- Make necessary adjustments to ensure all project accounting activity is correctly recorded.
- Coordinate with project managers and project controls teams to complete forecasts and prepare project finance reports for local and corporate management.
- Work with project managers, procurement teams, and subcontract coordinators to analyze, maintain, and improve project cash flows.
- Maintain internal financial controls over assigned projects and support compliance with company accounting policies.
- Ensure client invoices are submitted on time and support client audit requirements when needed.
- Review and analyze project costs to identify issues, variances, or incorrect charges.
- Provide financial inputs for ad‑hoc reports requested by local management, corporate management, or project leadership.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Finance and Accounting.
- 5-7 years of project accounting, finance, billing, or cost control experience.
- Experience in oil and gas, EPCI, construction, energy, or project‑based industries is strongly preferred.
- Relevant professional certification such as Chartered Accountant, ACCA, CPA, or similar qualification is an advantage.
- Practical experience with billing in the energy and construction industry.
- Good knowledge of ERP accounting software and project finance reporting systems.
- Strong understanding of accounts receivable, customer invoicing, intercompany billing, accruals, cash‑flow tracking, and cost analysis.
- Able to work with project managers, procurement teams, project controls, subcontract teams, and corporate finance stakeholders.
- Detail‑focused with the ability to review financial data, identify gaps, and support accurate reporting.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial information clearly to project and management teams.
- Able to manage deadlines, handle multiple reporting tasks, and work within established finance policies and controls.
