Position Overview

McDermott International, Ltd is seeking a Senior Project Manager in Dubai, UAE to lead the pursuit, capture, execution, and delivery of medium and complex EPC, EPFI, EPFC, and FEED projects. The position carries bottom-line accountability for financial and technical performance and requires senior-level leadership across project strategy, client relationships, contracts, HSE, quality, schedule, cost, risk, forecasting, and multidisciplinary execution. The Senior Project Manager will anticipate project opportunities and potential issues, adjust strategies accordingly, and negotiate directly with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors. Depending on the assignment, the role may lead an entire project, a FEED effort, a project pursuit, or a discrete portion of a larger project.

Project Leadership and Execution

The Senior Project Manager will manage Lump Sum Turnkey EPC or EPFI projects typically valued between $100 million and $500 million. During the EPFC phase, the position is responsible for project execution in accordance with contractual requirements and established HSE, security, quality, schedule, and financial objectives. The role serves as McDermott 's principal representative for assigned project activities and is accountable to both McDermott management and the client for team performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and execute all phases of assigned projects or a defined portion of a larger project.
• Provide strategic leadership for project execution and project pursuits.
• Maintain bottom-line responsibility for technical performance, schedule, cost, quality, safety, and financial results.
• Represent McDermott before the client and maintain responsibility for client satisfaction.
• Deliver projects against the approved budget and baseline schedule while targeting the as-sold gross profit or better.
• Maintain accurate forecasting and actively manage project risks and opportunities.
• Develop, approve, and implement the Project Execution Plan.
• Ensure project activities comply with BMS policies, applicable legal requirements, the Quality Management System, and the HSE Management System.
• Establish and maintain a high-performance safety culture across the project.
• Direct the Project Team within the boundaries of McDermott policies and ensure escalation to Senior Management when required.
• Plan project staffing and oversee the allocation of personnel throughout execution.
• Define project roles, responsibilities, and authorities and delegate responsibility effectively.
• Monitor and manage the project 's risk profile with support from relevant departments.
• Drive resolution of issues and conflicts between departments, subcontractors, suppliers, and the client.
• Ensure project personnel understand their responsibilities and authority under applicable McDermott policies and procedures.
• Ensure mandatory training requirements are completed by the Project Manager and project team.

FEED, Proposal and Precontract Activities

The Senior Project Manager may be assigned during the precontract phase to lead proposal preparation in coordination with the Commercial team. Responsibilities can include oversight of estimate preparation and supporting documentation, development of bid and project execution strategies, and leadership of the Risk and Opportunity management program. For FEED assignments, the Project Manager acts as McDermott 's principal representative and is responsible for execution in accordance with the contract and established HSE, quality, schedule, and financial goals. The role will:

• Develop and maintain the FEED Win-it strategy.
• Direct the FEED team within McDermott policies and procedures.
• Maintain accountability to McDermott management and the client for team performance.
• Engage Senior Management to resolve significant project issues or conflicts.
• Lead bid teams when assigned and execute the capture strategy.
• Coordinate technical and commercial bid activities with the Proposal and Estimating department.

Contract and Client Management

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for ensuring contractual requirements are understood, administered, and protected throughout project execution.

• Ensure compliance with the Main Contract and applicable Subcontracts.
• Administer scope variations and support negotiation of changes to the scope of work.
• Protect McDermott 's contractual rights while identifying and maximizing legitimate contractual opportunities.Establish and maintain effective relationships with the client and key subcontractors.
• Liaise with clients and subcontractors throughout project execution.
• Arrange and participate in required client and subcontractor meetings.
• Prepare and issue reports to the client in accordance with contractual requirements.
• Ensure required written contractual documentation is prepared and submitted on time.
• Oversee management of change and ensure an appropriate decision‑making process is followed and documented.

Project Controls and Closeout

The position requires strong awareness of work planning, scheduling, cost control, progress measurement, risk management, and forecasting to support project delivery and financial performance. The Senior Project Manager will oversee contingency planning and lessons learned across Engineering, Fabrication, Construction, and Installation activities. The role is also responsible for appropriate project closeout activities and submission of required documentation in accordance with contractual requirements and the applicable Closeout Procedure.

Qualifications and Experience

• EPC Project Manager: 15 years of relevant industry experience, including a minimum of 8 years as a Project Manager.
• FEED Project Manager: 10 years of relevant industry experience, including a minimum of 5 years as a FEED Project Manager.
• Bachelor 's Degree or Diploma in a relevant Engineering discipline such as Civil, Mechanical, Ocean, Naval, Architecture, or a qualification in Construction Management.
• Postgraduate management qualification is an advantage.
• Technical competency relevant to the project scope, including the ability to understand technical challenges and their implications.
• Ability to support the selection of key project team members.
• Strong and effective communication skills.
• Ability to maintain sufficient working knowledge of the complete project to ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented.
• Understanding of EPC contracts and contracting strategies, with the ability to communicate contractual requirements to project teams.
