Job summary

Asana is seeking a Senior Privacy Engineer to lead privacy-by-design reviews for new features and architecture, ensuring GDPR/CCPA compliance across products.

You will evaluate privacy risks in AI/ML pipelines, build privacy-enhancing technologies and data governance controls, perform privacy impact assessments, and translate legal requirements into engineering specifications.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience.
• 3+ years focused on privacy or data protection.
• Deep understanding of GDPR, CCPA, and global privacy frameworks.
• Experience building technical controls for data governance (classification, lineage, retention).
• Familiarity with privacy risks in ML systems.
• Experience with cryptographic techniques, anonymization, and de-identification.
• Strong ability to translate legal requirements into engineering specifications.
