Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking an Energy Consulting Senior Professional in Abu Dhabi to lead power system studies and advisory projects for utilities and industry. You will analyze grid challenges, evaluate renewable integration, and deliver actionable recommendations using industry-standard tools and programming skills.

Requirements include a Master's in Electrical or Power Systems Engineering and 8+ years in related roles, with strong knowledge of power networks and market operations.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in power system studies, consulting, or related technical roles.
• Strong knowledge of electrical power systems, electricity markets, grid infrastructure, and utility operations.
• Experience with power system modeling, simulation, and analysis using PSSE, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, ETAP, PSCAD, EMTP, or RTDS.
• Experience in transmission, renewable energy, offshore wind, hydrogen, industrial electrification, sustainability, BESS, FACTS, HVDC, e-mobility, or grid code compliance.
• Ability to translate complex technical analyses into practical recommendations.
• Experience with programming and model development using Python, Fortran, DSL, NPL, or similar languages is highly valued.
• Knowledge of digital technologies, including AI, data analytics, databases, and automation solutions is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver power system studies and advisory services.
• Support customers to improve efficiency and address technical, regulatory, economic, and sustainability challenges.
• Assess impacts of renewables, energy storage, hydrogen, and e-mobility on grids.
• Develop analyses and recommendations using standard methodologies and tools.
• Build relationships and support business development, proposals and sales.
• Manage project execution: planning, scheduling, finances, risk, and customer satisfaction.
• Drive innovation; develop new methods and mentor colleagues.
