Job summary

Nova International General Contracting is seeking a Senior Planning Engineer in the UAE to manage project planning, controls and performance reporting across contracting and PMC environments.

You will develop and validate schedules, monitor progress, review contractor programs, and provide independent planning advice to ensure project success and adherence to deadlines, budget, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Experience with façade systems in UAE desirable.
• Knowledge of curtain wall, cladding, glazing, waterproofing.
• Experience reviewing shop drawings and submittals.
• Familiarity with UAE regulations and authorities.

Responsibilities

Job Description

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Planning Engineer with strong experience in both Contracting and PMC/Consultancy environments to manage and oversee project planning, controls, and performance reporting. This role requires a professional who understands planning from both execution and client/consultant perspectives, ensuring full project control and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Advanced Planning & Controls

• Develop and validate project schedules from both contractor and PMC perspectives
• Review and challenge contractor programs to ensure accuracy and feasibility Establish planning standards, reporting structures, and project controls processes
• Progress Monitoring & Performance Management
• Monitor project performance against approved baseline schedules
• Analyze progress, identify delays, and recommend corrective actions
• Prepare detailed reports for stakeholders, including clients and senior management
• Delay Analysis & Claims Management
• Lead and review Time Impact Analysis (TIA) and delay assessments
• Evaluate contractor claims, variations, and EOT submissions
• Provide independent planning advice and recommendations

Stakeholder Coordination

• Interface with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams
• Ensure alignment across all project stakeholders
• Review subcontractor and contractor schedules

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Proven experience working on façade systems within a general contracting company or façade specialist in the UAE.
• Strong knowledge of curtain wall, cladding, glazing, and waterproofing systems.
• Experience in reviewing shop drawings and technical submittals.
• Familiarity with local regulations and authority requirements.
• Good coordination and communication skills.
• Ability to manage technical issues proactively and work within project deadlines.
