Job summary

Amperesand is seeking a Senior Packaging Engineer to own inbound component packaging, develop robust designs, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-growing energy infrastructure context.

This on-site role requires 5 days a week in a manufacturing environment, with a global pay range and strong emphasis on delivering compliant, testable packaging solutions for domestic and international shipments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years packaging design experience from concept to production.
• Proficiency in CAD modeling and CAE tools (CATIA/SolidWorks, Ansys).
• Familiarity with GD&T, tolerance analysis, and DFM/DFA principles.
• Experience with packaging for components and supplier collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Deliver packaging designs to protect components, considering weight and durability.
• Perform 3D modeling, FEA, and durability analysis of packaging concepts.
• Design, source, build, and test prototype packaging.
• Conduct design reviews and ensure ISTA/ASTM compliance.
• Deliver 3D/2D specs for supplier bidding and compliance documentation.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers across NPI and production.
