Job summary

D4 Insight is seeking a Senior Oracle Database Engineer in Dubai to manage Oracle databases across large environments. The role focuses on administration, performance tuning, and automation to improve operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of Oracle experience, strong RAC/Data Guard knowledge, and expertise in OCI/AWS, OEM, RMAN, and scripting with Bash/Python. Occasional on-call support may be required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of Oracle database engineering experience in large organizations.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle DB Administration, RAC, Data Guard, OEM, RMAN.
• Experience with OCI and AWS.
• Proficiency in database patching, migrations, SQL tuning, and performance tuning.
• Unix/Linux proficiency; scripting in Bash and Python.
• Familiarity with Agile working practices.
• Desirable: Ansible, Git, Jenkins, Groovy, Terraform.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support Oracle databases including RAC and Data Guard.
• Manage operations across OCI and AWS.
• Monitor databases with OEM and perform RMAN backups/recovery.
• Patch, migrate, and tune databases for performance.

We are looking for Senior Oracle Database Engineer to support technology projects across enterprise environments. The role requires strong expertise in Oracle database administration and performance tuning, combined with a strong interest in automating repetitive DBA activities using modern automation technologies.

The successful candidate will work across multiple projects simultaneously and should be comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment, including occasional out-of-hours and weekend support as required.

Key Responsibilities

Oracle Database Administration

• Administer and support Oracle databases, including:
• Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC)
• Oracle Data Guard
• Manage database operations across Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and AWS.
• Administer and monitor databases using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
• Perform database backup and recovery activities using RMAN.

Performance & Database Engineering

• Perform database patching and migrations.
• Conduct SQL and database-level performance tuning.
• Identify and resolve database performance issues.
• Maintain database reliability and operational stability across technology projects.

Automation & DevOps

• Automate repetitive Oracle DBA activities using modern automation technologies.
• Develop and maintain automation using:

• Contribute to improving operational efficiency through automation.

Project & Operational Support

• Work across multiple technology projects simultaneously.
