Detailed Job Description

As a Senior Network & Firewall Engineer (L3), you will serve as a senior technical authority responsible for the design, implementation, optimization, and support of enterprise-grade network and security infrastructures. You will lead complex troubleshooting efforts, provide L3 escalation support, and drive network transformation initiatives across data center, campus, and enterprise environments. Working closely with customers, project teams, and internal stakeholders, you will ensure the reliability, availability, and security of critical network services. The role demands extensive expertise in advanced routing and switching technologies, next-generation firewalls, and network security architectures. This is an excellent opportunity to work on large-scale, high-impact projects within highly regulated and performance-sensitive environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support enterprise network infrastructure across campus, branch, and data center environments.
• Lead L3 troubleshooting and act as the highest escalation point for complex network incidents.
• Configure, optimize, and troubleshoot advanced routing protocols including OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, and MPLS.
• Implement and maintain Layer 2 and Layer 3 technologies including VLANs, STP, HSRP, and VRRP.
• Deploy, administer, and optimize Palo Alto, Fortinet, and Cisco Firepower firewall platforms.
• Lead network migration, transformation, and modernization projects.
• Perform root cause analysis and provide permanent resolutions for recurring network issues.
• Monitor and improve network performance, security, resilience, and availability.
• Develop and implement network security policies, segmentation strategies, and access control mechanisms.
• Collaborate with customers and project teams to deliver secure and scalable networking solutions.
• Prepare technical documentation, design documents, operational procedures, and implementation plans.
• Support change management, maintenance activities, and infrastructure upgrades.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers and support teams.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8-10+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise network engineering and security operations.
• Mandatory Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) Enterprise certification.
• Extensive experience with Cisco routing and switching technologies.
• Advanced expertise in OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, MPLS, VLANs, STP, HSRP, and VRRP.
• Strong hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls.
• Strong hands-on experience with Fortinet security platforms.
• Experience administering Cisco Firepower firewalls and security solutions.
• Proven experience delivering network migration, deployment, and transformation projects.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise security architecture and network segmentation.
• Experience working in large-scale data center and campus network environments.
