Job summary

Al Ghurair Investment LLC is seeking an experienced MEP Engineering Lead to supervise site execution for power project substations and related buildings. You will coordinate HVAC, plumbing, drainage, firefighting and life-safety systems, ensuring compliance with drawings, specs and schedules, and manage subcontractors across multidisciplinary teams.

The role requires 7–10 years of MEP project experience, strong coordination skills, and knowledge of UAE regulations and international standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or MEP Engineering.
Typically 7–10 years of relevant MEP engineering and construction experience.
Strong experience in multidisciplinary MEP engineering, installation, testing, commissioning, and site execution.
Good knowledge of HVAC, ventilation, plumbing, drainage, firefighting, fire alarm, and building services.
Experience with MEP systems for substations, control buildings, utility buildings, industrial facilities, or infrastructure projects.
Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings, schematics, layouts, specs, equipment schedules, and technical documentation.
Strong experience coordinating MEP interfaces with civil, structural, electrical, and architectural disciplines.
Knowledge of UAE regulations and international standards.
Experience managing subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and multidisciplinary site teams.
QA/QC procedures, ITPs, inspection requirements, testing, commissioning, and handover processes.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise MEP engineering and site execution activities for power projects, substations, control buildings and facilities.
Review MEP drawings, specifications, equipment layouts, shop drawings, ITPs, and technical submissions.
Coordinate MEP works with civil, structural, electrical, architectural and other disciplines.
Supervise installation of HVAC, ventilation, plumbing, drainage, firefighting & life-safety systems.
Coordinate MEP services for control rooms, substations, admin buildings and workshops.
Ensure installations comply with drawings, specs, schedules and standards.
Review submittals and ensure only approved materials are procured and installed.
Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely availability of MEP equipment and consumables.
Supervise subcontractors and monitor productivity, workmanship and deployment.
Monitor progress and align with project schedules and milestones.
Prepare work plans, look-ahead schedules and resource plans.
Coordinate with consultants, clients, vendors and teams to resolve issues.
Review RFIs and provide technical solutions and design changes.
Identify clashes among MEP interfaces and coordinate resolutions.
Ensure proper installation of HVAC, piping, pumps, ducts, and life-safety systems.
Coordinate testing and commissioning of MEP systems and integration with power and BMS.
Ensure compliance with UAE regulations, client standards and QA/QC requirements.
Maintain records, inspections, test documentation and as-built drawings.
Support handover activities and provide technical guidance to junior staff.
Contribute to continuous improvement and cost optimization initiatives.
