Job summary

Latinum HR Solutions is recruiting an experienced MEP Manager for a client in Dubai. The successful candidate will lead all Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing design activities from pre-concept and detailed design through tendering, authority approvals and project handover.

The role requires strong technical expertise, commercial awareness and extensive experience managing complex, high-value developments in the UAE.

Qualifications

• Minimum 20 years of overall MEP engineering experience.
• At least 15 years UAE/GCC experience.
• ≥5 years in a senior management role within an engineering consultancy.
• Experience delivering projects valued above AED 500 million.
• Proven approvals from Dubai Municipality, DDA, DEWA, Civil Defence, RTA, and related authorities.

Responsibilities

• Establish the MEP design strategy, project brief, design criteria, and utility requirements.
• Lead concept, schematic and detailed MEP design reviews.
• Review calculations, layouts, equipment selection, specifications, schedules and technical reports.
• Coordinate MEP requirements with architectural, structural, infrastructure, BIM and specialist disciplines.
• Ensure constructability, maintainability, energy efficiency and regulatory compliance.
• Lead value-engineering exercises to optimise capital and lifecycle costs.
• Manage authority submissions, comments, NOCs and final approvals.
• Review tender drawings, specifications, BOQs, Employer’s Requirements and scopes of work.
• Respond to technical RFIs and evaluate contractor submissions, alternatives and tender proposals.
• Monitor design progress, budgets, variations and risks (technical, commercial, programme).
• Lead client meetings, design workshops and stakeholder coordination throughout the project lifecycle.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate MEP requirements with architectural, structural, infrastructure, BIM and specialist disciplines.
• Ensure constructability, maintainability, energy efficiency and compliance with applicable codes.
• Lead value-engineering exercises to optimise capital costs, lifecycle costs and operational efficiency.
• Manage authority submissions, comments, NOCs and final approvals.
• Review tender drawings, specifications, BOQs, Employer’s Requirements and scopes of work.
• Respond to technical RFIs and evaluate contractor submissions, alternatives and tender proposals.
• Monitor design progress, budgets, variations and technical, commercial and programme risks.
• Lead client meetings, design workshops and stakeholder coordination throughout the project lifecycle.

MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or an HVAC-related specialisation is preferred.
• Minimum 20 years of overall MEP engineering experience.
• At least 15 years of UAE/GCC experience.
• Minimum five years in a senior management role within an engineering consultancy.
• Experience delivering projects valued above AED 500 million, including multi-billion-dirham developments.
• Proven experience obtaining approvals from Dubai Municipality, DDA, DEWA, Civil Defence, RTA, district cooling, telecommunications, sewerage and drainage authorities.
