Jobgether, a partner company, seeks a Senior Java Engineer (Payments) based in the United Arab Emirates. You will design and deliver secure, scalable payment platforms, take end-to-end ownership, and lead architectural decisions across multiple clients.

The role emphasizes event-driven architectures with Kafka, REST APIs, and cloud-native delivery. You will mentor engineers, improve CI/CD, and ensure compliance and high performance in a global fintech environment.

Qualifications

• Seven+ years of professional Java development experience.
• Hands-on experience with payments/fintech systems.
• Strong knowledge of Java 21+ and Spring Boot.
• Experience with Apache Kafka and event-driven architectures.
• Database experience with PostgreSQL/MySQL and ORM (Hibernate/JPA).

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable Java applications and services.
• Lead architectural decisions and data model design.
• Develop payment platforms and integrations with external systems.
• Ensure reliability, security, and regulatory compliance.
• Build and manage event-driven processing with Kafka.
• Collaborate with product, architecture, and DevOps teams.
• Improve CI/CD, testing, observability, and deployment processes.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead code reviews.
• Investigate incidents and implement fixes.
