Job summary

Caliberly is seeking a Senior Back-End Java Developer to design and build core services for a modern cross-border payments platform. You will own end-to-end backend components, focusing on robustness, correctness, and scalable performance within distributed systems.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of Java backend experience, strong Spring Boot skills, and a track record with microservices, databases, and messaging systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of back-end development with Java
• Expertise in Java 11+ and Spring/Spring Boot
• Strong experience with RESTful APIs and microservices
• Distributed systems focus: service discovery, resilience, observability
• Relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and NoSQL familiarity
• Experience with messaging (Kafka/RabbitMQ)
• CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)
• Security, performance, and scalability in financial or mission-critical systems
• Excellent communication and collaboration with product, QA, DevOps, and frontend teams
• Bonus: payments, FX, cross-border transfers, ISO 20022, SWIFT, or event-driven architectures
