Job summary

Caliberly is seeking a skilled Java Developer to design, build and maintain backend systems and enterprise-grade applications. You will collaborate with product, architecture, QA and operations to deliver reliable, scalable solutions.

You’ll work on server-side modules, APIs and microservices, write clean code, optimize performance and ensure high availability while integrating with databases, cloud platforms and CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 3–5 years of professional software development experience with hands-on Java.
• Strong proficiency in core Java (8+), OO concepts, patterns and Java EE or similar.
• Experience with Spring (Boot/MVC), Hibernate/JPA, REST APIs and microservices.
• Relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle) and/or NoSQL; proficient SQL.
• Version control (Git/SVN), build tools (Maven/Gradle), CI/CD; containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Strong problem-solving, analytical and communication skills; team player.

Responsibilities

• Analyse requirements and translate them into designs and code.
• Develop, test and deploy Java backend modules and APIs.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code; perform code reviews.
• Optimize performance, scalability, and memory usage; ensure high availability.
• Integrate with databases, third-party services, messaging systems and cloud platforms.
• Troubleshoot production issues and monitor system health.
• Collaborate with DevOps, QA and product teams to support CI/CD and Agile delivery.
• Document designs, code changes and system behaviors for knowledge sharing.
