  • Develop 3D instrumentation models and coordinate with other disciplines to maintain clash-free design outputs.
  • Prepare and update instrumentation design deliverables in line with project specifications, MDR requirements, Level 2 and Level 3 procedures, and agreed schedules.
  • Prioritize daily design work, organize assigned tasks, and meet deadlines with limited supervision.
  • Review the contract scope of work, specifications, schedules, and inter-discipline requirements to identify concerns early.
  • Raise change notifications in the Change Management System when scope changes are identified, including supporting documentation and estimates.
  • Support variation order input when design changes affect scope, schedule, manhours, or deliverables.
  • Interface with process, piping, electrical, structural, safety, mechanical, and other disciplines to obtain inputs and complete coordinated design drawings.
  • Liaise with discipline support groups to clarify interfaces, deliverables, schedules, and drawing requirements.
  • Document important technical communications that result in decisions or assigned actions and share them with the Discipline Lead Designer and Discipline Supervisor.
  • Assist the Discipline Lead Designer with proposal estimates, job scope changes, execution statements, work schedules, and manhour requirements.
  • Raise technical queries to clarify missing information, work scope, standards, procedures, and operational requirements.
  • Support deliverable list finalization, design philosophies, and discipline documentation to ensure technical compliance and functional integrity.
  • Attend kickoff meetings, design reviews, vendor meetings, supplier discussions, engineering meetings, and offshore site surveys when required.
  • Research customer standards and procedures to support project-specific design procedures and standards for approval.
  • Set up and maintain discipline master drawing files, document files, design records, and final archiving.
  • Prepare instrumentation deliverables including 3D models, layout drawings, detailed design drawings, as-built drawings, hook-up details, installation details, wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, panel drawings, console drawings, logic diagrams, shutdown hierarchy drawings, schematics, block diagrams, drawing lists, material schedules, and weight take-offs.
  • Review drawings issued by other disciplines and incorporate required interface data into instrumentation drawings.
  • Review vendor drawings and documents and include required vendor information in discipline drawings and documents.
  • Identify items with insufficient data, record them as HOLDS, update standard holds lists, and notify the Discipline Lead Designer when updates occur.
  • Generate IDC design documentation and support design verification through single-discipline checks and inter-discipline checks.
  • Review IDC documentation to confirm technical interfaces, discipline inputs, and design consistency.
  • Maintain SDC and IDC drawings, filing systems, design records, and project documentation in a controlled manner.
  • Prepare, issue, and update material data, weight data, and take-off information.
  • Support fabrication teams in resolving construction difficulties related to design problems, clashes, missing data, or field changes.
  • Monitor design progress, maintain the deliverables register, and support planning and forecasting reports with productivity inputs.
  • Report design errors, suggest practical resolutions, and help improve the accuracy of discipline deliverables.
  • Participate in design reviews, technical audits, clash resolution meetings, and lessons learned activities.
